TOPIC: Compensation Culture...

Compensation Culture... 11 Years, 5 Months ago
One of the reasons that car insurance costs have suddenly dropped is because courts/judges have rumbled the Compensation Culture (whiplash injury claims) and stopped granting them.

Hmm... wonder when Compensation Claims in other areas will start getting spotted?

and as predicted by me (but not many brains needed or psychic ability for this one).

See FACT for interesting speech by Mail journalist Simon Rose that touches on this.

Falsely Accused Carers and Teachers

Insurance companies will soon demand exorbitant fees to insure schools, social clubs and so on...school fees for smaller private schools will sky rocket.

If the BBC caves in and pays for Savile claims they open Pandora's Box for lawsuits.

And why NSW now has a 10 year limit on all compo claims..much to howls of anguish from "charities" and screams of "won't someone think of the children !!!"( IE : 50 year old junkie/alcoholic men and women)

I was reading a story over the weekend - sorry, can't find the link now - of a convicted abuser who died in prison.

The compo claims - loads of them ! - are unlikely to be met as although everyone thought he was a very successful businessman he actually died almost penniless !

The claimants are NOT happy.

But no time limit on accusations?

I have a feeling they will be few and far between after the tenth year.

there are politics at play but I agree with it. The Catholic Church is all powerful in Oz.

There is a Royal Commission into institutional sex assaults, mainly the Catholic Church and orphan homes where kids from the UK were bussed out to in the 50s.

But ambulance chasing lawyers are in the act including Slater & Moron. I've heard them screaming blue murder on radio because the Church not only pays substantial compo it has a huge fund for psychiatric treatment...the lawyers want that money paid direct to victims as well (ie so they get a cut)

Interestingly one alleged victim is now claiming a "campaigning former policeman" who was hailed as whistleblower by the media, deliberately lied about her in TV interviews.

2 years ago police went on a classic trawling case in a large country town over a Catholic boys school- placed adverts in the local papers re compensation. The charged priest were found not guilty..you could read the verdict in tiny print on page 47a.

One chap I have know for years told me he made a claim of abuse in a Catholic school against a priest already serving time. He admitted it wasn't true but as the claim was made with a dozen others and the priest was already doing time it wouldn't affect the accused.

He was paid a substantial sum, opened a small business which failed after 3 years.

I heard at Xmas he filled his car full of petrol cans and drove into a tree. JK is correct..many disturbed minds at paly.
