I shall read the full speech but it sounds like a damn fine summing up to me.

I predict that Roache will be acquitted of all charges in record time .... after which ALL subsequent "celebrity" cases will collapse, and a sense of normality will be restored.

And some PAST celebrity miscarriages of justice may find appeals being granted.

I wish I could be so optimistic - an accuser giving evidence, with all the 'theatre', emotion and sympathy that is displayed in a Court of Law is difficult to undermine.

I am a big believer in the Jury system (in lieu of anything better) - the public are not as daft as they sometimes pretend to be !

I doubt we shall ever know.

Maybe these women had actually met Roache years ago - autograph hunting at Coronation St maybe? - he would not remember as he's probably signed millions of autographs over the years.

I would like to know the "timeline" of this case .... Did these 'complaints' come before or after Michael Le Vell's acquittal?
