I've always said (as a result of my own geneological research) that if we could produce a family tree with everyone in the world on it - we would all be related somehow.

The news that the Queen and Johnny Depp are 20th cousins is no surprise to me. They are both descended from Edward III (as am I). The list of famous name appearing on my family tree grows daily (the latest being Ian Fleming).

Unfortunately there is also a link to the Keppel family too - which I have not investigated (who would want to be connected to Camilla?)

I think the Keppels are your side of the family, hedda !

We all related to royalty or some famous ruler.

Going slightly off-topic, did anyone see the fantastic Kelly Clarkson "Who Do You Think You Are USA" on TV the other night? It covered her great great great grandfather fighting in the US Civil War. A great US History lesson. It's currently on BBC I-player.

Some of these US versions have been surprisingly good.
