DLT latest 11 Years, 5 Months ago
Very positive, Dave Tate is a very honourable man. You should hear some of the things Johnny Beerling has to say about the police investigating the case.

Like the media, police are bitterly disappointed by any witness prepared to defend people accused of offences. It is NOT "a good story".

So don't expect stuff like this to get much coverage...

The police hate to see support for the accused but love it for the ALLEGED victim.
Defence sometime do not like to bring to many character witness's in either, strange.

I really hope this goes the right way, rediculous charges, who is up next, all the male actors from the Carry On movies ?

mind you some great new film titles
Carry on dont touch me bum
Carry on for forty years then nick me
Carry on a MWT expose !

Someone did tweet MWT and suggested he was disappointed when Michael Le Vell was acquitted.
I think he really wants a "big fish" just to say that everyone is at it and to justify himself. A failed Copper with a TV career.

Those who can can, those who can't, teach. Those who can't even do that become Police Officers.

these sensational cases convince me that France's Inquisitorial System is superior.

none of the sensational media happens and around 25- 35 % of cases including claimed sex assaults are dropped.

It's quite funny that, bar wearing yellow and red dungarees, the Chuckle Brothers are posing outside in character during a very serious life-changing trial.

I wanted to wear my multi-coloured wig on one day of my trial (to illustrate that it was the imaginary character being tried, not the real person) but my lawyers banned me. As a matter of interest - the wig was a major ingredient in my second trial acquittal - we were able to prove (I kept the receipt) that I'd bought it four years later than a liar said I was wearing it when he saw me on stage.

I had the unique experience of meeting them a while ago. I can assure you it's no pose - they're like that all the time. Wrinkly and dark, they looked like WH Auden's testicles with smiley faces drawn on each one. As one talks to you, the other stands close by and nods. Then the other one speaks and his partner grins and nods. They seemed really quite sweet but other-worldly in a way that only a lifetime in showbiz can make you.

How can you tell the difference between's Auden's testicles and his face, Pru? And don't they both look like Somerset Maugham who probably had close knowledge of them?

Ha ha. Don't you remember someone said to Auden how lined and wrinkled his face seemed and his reply was: 'If you think my face is bad, you should see my balls!'

Re:DLT latest 11 Years, 5 Months ago
Savile "takes over" the DLT trial, now -

"Former BBC producer and studio manager Kevin Howlett described he never heard incidents of inappropriate behaviour regarding Travis but he, like other witnesses recalled rumours involving disgraced dead DJ Jimmy Savile.

"There were rumours about Jimmy Savile's behaviour but one never saw Jimmy Savile in the building in the 1980s. He was never on anyone's radar," he said.

Asked about the rumours he added:"They were never substantiated at all really. I heard vague things about him that he was a bit of a ladies' man.

"I was not aware of anything that has since come out about him and underage girls. I just heard rumours. He was a bit of a shady character."

Mr Howlett added that he had met Savile twice in the 15 years he had worked at the BBC saying that he "would just come in once every two weeks for 30 minutes to record his links for his show."

He said that Savile's Sunday afternoon show was recorded weeks in advance and never broadcast live and he added: "I got the feeling he was a very strange man."

Under cross examination, Mr Howlett said he never recalled anyone "doing anything about the Jimmy Savile rumours."

Yes and David Atkey too; these are honest honourable men and I know them all. Everyone knew Savile "liked young girls" which, everyone assumed, were 16/17/18/19 year olds (who were regarded as young girls in the 70s and 80s). Lots of people liked "young girls" way back then; it's only recently that no healthy male who isn't a pervert only looks at women who are over 30.
