The not so daft UKIP 11 Years, 5 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2552969...hit-communities.html

'Britain’s foreign aid budget worth £11billion should be immediately suspended with the money diverted to help areas in the UK devastated by flooding, Nigel Farage said today.

The Ukip leader insisted ‘charity begins at home’ and urged the government to step up its response to the colossal damage to homes, businesses, roads and railways.'

We give away money to India, which has a more advanced space program than our own.We give money to Argentina, which is doing everything it can to cause us problems over the Falklands. The list is endless of how money is badly delivered. It's not popular, and in a democracy we should listen to the people, and Mr Farge is far more in tune than many others in politics with the electorate.

And talking of idiots in government who have let the judiciary go around making celebrity trials that should never be,wasting our hard earned tax monies as a result.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2552261...ndecent-assault.html

Good luck Bill, now go public and push those in power to do something about this current farce of justice.

it's simplistic but in some ways I agree.

However- few people realise how foreign aid actually works.

Generally British corporations are the beneficiaries in providing that 'aid'.

I believe the whole area needs an almighty overhaul and the money should keep going- but needs to be administered so that it actually aids real people. Not the City Of London where much of the money remains, or some tinpot local mandarin's Swiss bank account. Corporations demand Foreign Aid.

the reality however of UKIP is this : they benefit from people's genuine disgust at much of politics and usually rise to certain heights : much like Pauline Hanson did in Australia (policies just like UKIP) and command millions of votes but generally vanish within a few short years.

Or they could flourish like the Black shirts.

No matter what? Even if you don't agree? it sounds more like an old fashioned religion than a political party.
What did they say or do that made you so enthusiastic?

Unfortunately Andrew's post proves my point that democracy doesn't work.

A benign autocracy works.

And unfortunately your post reveals the opposite.
For all his lack of intellectual finesse' he's on the ground, seeing the real world, the world that exists beyond a Rolls and Harrods, the world of the majority. The world that Johnny Reggae existed in,not the one we invent for him.The best politicians come from humble backgrounds,Maggie being a prime example, who eventually failed when she forgot this.

A despot wouldn't believe the mighty Euro could end up in an economic hole. He wouldn't see the damage unlimited migration causes to the majority of ordinary citizens. He wouldn't see the stupidity of giving our money we can ill afford away to countries that are out to take it,and stab us in the back afterwards, because he is rich enough not to realize.

Despots only work when a strong person is required to keep together groups of citizens who for reasons of race and religion do not belong together.Syria and Iraq spring to mind. They often get carried away in their own beliefs, and we then see what happens.

I'm sure you're right about a Despot, Pat. But a "Benign Autocracy" wouldn't be benign if it behaved like that.

Out of the EU, fracking and they will get people in work.

Green energy is just a way to raise tax and it's unreliable source of energy.

Quite right, hedda.
Much like the BNP did a few years ago.

They will have "modest" victories (as a protest vote) but will weild absolutely no power and disappear when a real choice needs to be made.

Even now ...not a single person on this board can name ANY member of Ukip (apart from rent-a-gob Farage).

(Cue - hurried scraping on internet to discover names of any Ukip members !)

ukpollingreport.co.uk/

UKIP now on 15%,the BNP never went over about 6%.Totally different situation,UKIP campaign on policies popular with voters, areas the main parties have never dealt with correctly.
Libs down to 9%,close to wipeout!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18264385

Notice now the BBC are including 4 parties in their tables. The Scots Nats are placed in with others.Wonder how long it will be before the Looney Libs join them?

What if the conservatives offer the same? Will you change over?

What do they intend to do about the welfare crisis?

No I could never vote Tories ever again voted for them when I was old enough to vote.

UKIP have stated they will find full time work for the unemployed, so I have no idea where there will be a another FJF or make workfare compulsory.

I agree with many of their polices. Labour I have lost trust in they are Tories just disguised in red, MRLP are fun to vote for sadly people take no notice of them.

I wouldn't care if they stuck them a bit further out so we couldn't see them.

No they didn't !

... and even if they had - what can they achieve with ONE seat at Westminster ?

Just a protest vote ... no need to worry their supporters won;t be able to spell the "X" on the ballot form !
