Question Time last night on Rape 11 Years, 5 Months ago
From audience reaction, the tide is definitely starting to turn (though sadly a lot of the reason is because people tend to believe the courts get it right - which they often don't, whichever side you're on - and illustrated how, essentially, we none of us give a shit unless directly involved).
That bloody "rape is rape" discussion tried (and failed, thanks David) to get started. I find it unbelievable that the average punter of either sex cannot accept that the vast majority of rape allegations are the result of misunderstandings, frequently fuelled by drugs or alcohol.

People will always find it possible to believe what they want to believe.
For decades feminists have been trying to extend the definition of rape to cover just about everythying up to looking at somebody in a funny way. They do this to demonize male sexuality. For this to succeed, behaviour at the thin end of the spectrum must attract as much opprobrium as behaviour at the thick end. Hence, there must be no gradations of rapiness, and "rape is rape".

Yes; I'm very loathe to join the Anti-Feminist brigade but the extremists have crossed the line. Ghastly dykes have taken over the agenda and nobody dares comment.
My own particular morality (and I'm a huge believer in people having their own morality and sticking to it) means I consider it wrong even to tell someone you love them in order to get them into bed. It's dishonest and can be hurtful.
But others find that perfectly acceptable. You get consent, so where's the problem?
Ditto drink or drugs. Quite apart from the smell, I could never imagine having sex with someone drunk or drugged. Not only is it unfair, it's also very damaging to the ego (they had to be out-of-it to find me attractive? How ghastly).
But I don't consider it RAPE to have sex under those conditions. It's wrong for me (and I suggest should be wrong for most others) but it's up to them.
I'm told there are some who shout No No No at the same time as Push It In Further.
What kind of NO don't you understand?
Sex is often complicated. And anyone not understanding that should have no involvement in law.
For the law to be based on the ill informed and deluded, let alone the blinkered or unintelligent, is a recipe for disaster but we passed that point years ago.
