Rupert's crumbling influence 11 Years, 5 Months ago
more from the man who was so close to Rupert Murdoch ha accompanied him on his second honeymoon.
www.independentaustralia.net/business/bu...-the-crossroads,6150

THE LEAKED ACCOUNT last week of a serious domestic incident, forcing Keith Rupert Murdoch to be treated in a New York hospital, has all the earmarks of a planned series of events designed to create a major change in the management of the News Corporation.

A truly intriguing article. Thanks for posting it Hedda. Murdoch seems to inspire great hate from many people. I loathed a lot of what News of the World and Sun got up to, but blamed the papers - Mail, Mirror just as bad just as frequently. Times can be ghastly; as can Guardian and Telegraph.

I've said before - I think blaming proprietors or editors takes the eye off the ball; the problem is far wider and far deeper.

and I don't really care about Rupert and repeat : any dealings with News Ltd I have had (plenty), they have paid up, paid well and I've never had a problem.

But I've had heaps and heaps of problems from the opposite side..the Guardianistas...Fairfax Media in Australia that prides itself on "ethics"..I've had to sue 3 times (successfully) and it looks like I may again.

I think this article is interesting because it shows the fragility of an empire. Murdoch is like a bucanear who has had a brilliant success but the sharks...the big super corporation shareholders are lining up to separate his newspapers from the profitable TV/film. when that happens the newspaper empire will collapse.

What of Slater & Moron, Hedda? They have their own 'UK media Department' (employing ex-ITN & Fleet St), are taking over every UK PI Law firm & are at the epicentre of all the historic 'abuse' claims.
They are sending out letters asking people to join in on 'class actions'

Slater & Gordon are a rapacious Australian law firm with branches everywhere and are giving the "no win no fee" concept a really bad name. Other lawyers despair.

ignoramuses like Rachel Johnston are a nightmare.

She implies that it's only celebrities who are falsely accused and she implies those claiming assault should somehow not be grilled.

She, astonishingly, implies because Slater & Gordon sent out letters inviting claimants (with a promise of compo) that this implies guilt of crimes or that they even happened.

I heard a Slater & Gordon hack lawyer on radio moaning just a few days ago that the Catholic Church in Oz , quite apart from offering huge compensation also had a fund for counseling. he was incensed and demanded that money be also paid to claimants. via him of course."charities".

And that is why NSW has brought in a 10 year time limit for compo claims, to howls of anguish form lawyers and

Yes, but the vast damage of their distorted, devious agenda followed by others, is long since done.

Deep and wide!
