UKIP on 11% (for now !) and Lib Dems on 10%

UKIP could well deliver the Coalition's guaranteed return.
Last week's election - in Shameless country - they took more votes away from the loony Labour party (as it was never going to be a Tory or Lib Dem win).
Place your bets !

May not work, but it may keep him busy enough
Pat
Only just read the Daily Mail article - Silliband is even more dim than I thought if he thinks he can win Sheffield Hallam !
It's not the wealthiest Northern seat (I think that's Tatton in Cheshire) - but it IS right up there !
It has NEVER been Labour - and NEVER will be (the world will disappear down a sinkhole first !)
The Tories held it from 1900 till 1997 - but even in the year of B-Liar's sweep to power the locals could not stomach voting for Labour - so brought in the Lib Dems instead (who have held it every since ... with increasing majorities).
2010 result -
Conservative: 12040 (23.55%)
Labour: 8228 (16.09%)
Liberal Democrat: 27324 (53.44%)
UKIP: 1195 (2.34%)
Green: 919 (1.8%)
English Democrat: 586 (1.15%)
Christian: 250 (0.49%)
Monster Raving Loony: 164 (0.32%)
Independent: 429 (0.84%)
Majority: 15284 (29.89%)
As you can see the loony Mr Silliband not only has to overturn the 27324 Lib Dem voters - he also has to eliminate the 12040 Tory voters as well !
He's more dim than I realised - the dolers deserve him !!!!!!
(I don't think UKIP's 2% will be a threat - do you?)

Out of date poll, this is todays.
Con 33%, Lab 40%, LD 9%, UKIP 11%

The electoral system doesn't work that way ITK.
You seem to have forgotten that after the 2010 election (on May 6th) Brown was desperately trying to "win over" the Lib Dems so he could remain in power (even though the Tories had won most seats) !!!
It was only after the talks with both sides (and Brown finally realizing he had lost) that he actually resigned as PM on May 11th !
Trust ITK - you know he's always right !
I'm talking about our first past the post electoral system. It's loaded in favor of Labour at the moment.
'For every 1,000 voters who voted for them in #GE2010 how many have they retained?#LABOUR
#LABOUR 731
#CONSERVATIVES 679
#LIBDEMS 255'
ukgeneralelection2015.blogspot.co.uk/
Not so bad for The tories, but The looney libs look like being down to between 10-20 seats.
In fact if you go back to 1970 look how the Libs did then.
6 seats, 7.5%.
They're only 2% higher now.

All hypothetical, Pat !
If Ukip eat into Labour's vote (as they did in the Shameless election last week !) and the usual Labour "supporters don;t turn up (!!!) it's totally open.
With the way the economy, unemployment, inflation etc etc are going at the moment quite likely the Tories will overtake the opposition before the next election (AND Labour will have to reveal their policies too !)
That alone should put several million OFF !
Remember - Kinnock was 20 points in front (NOT 3 or 4 points) - AND LOST !
People always oppose the sitting government - but when it comes to the crunch !
"Labour’s lead over the Conservatives has dropped to just one point amid signs that the Tories are making headway in the crucial political battle over living standards, according to an opinion poll for The Independent.
Some 39 per cent of people agreed with the statement that their family’s finances would be better off with David Cameron and George Osborne than with Ed Miliband and Ed Balls, but only 28 per cent agreed when the statement was reversed to say they would be better off with the Labour leader and shadow Chancellor than the Prime Minister and Chancellor.

Try to keep up to date ITK...dated 'Andrew Grice Political Editor Monday 27 January 2014 '
The Looney Libs have had 3 weeks to make fools of themselves....and funny enough the last poll dated 16th Feb has the Tories lagging a good 5 points behind Labour....
