the OZ ABC show Media Watch did an excellent run-down on newspaper circulation figures on Monday : all Oz newspapers are plunging like crazy including News Corps tabloids (the main 3 now run at losses, something they have desperately tried to keep secret), losing around 24% each years which means print can last 5 years at most.

While some (even in Britain) celebrate the elevation of the "cretin" and London born Tony Abbott as PM, it's now been revealed that while Rupert Murdoch sent his most vicious editors to Oz to decimate the last Labor government, the Aust Tax Office lost a court case and now must pay Murdoch $880M of taxpayer funds which has seriously affected the countries budget.

Note -this is not paying money back to Rupert : this is money he never had when he re-structured his corporations via complicated deals when he "sold" many of his entities to Cayman Island structures without a penny changing hands.

While the Tax Office vowed to appeal the court decision, Lo & Behold the new Abbott government ordered them not to.
