Not a real food post, just a nostalgia food post. I made myself an Avocado with Prawn Cocktail (even fresh pink sauce; my recipe - half Heinz salad cream; half Heinz tomato ketchup - delicious).
Well, you asked for it. Dinner tonight; after an avocado with honey mustard dressing, a small roast chicken, roast potatoes, green beans, bread sauce, gravy and a glass or two of ice cold Gewurtztraminer white wine with a bottle of sparkling water. Followed by a tiny bowl of caramel ice cream and fresh raspberries (from Morocco, I see to my surprise on the label).
It was delicious; I forgot the obligatory strips of smoked bacon going crisp across the breasts; possibly my favourite part. The gravy (blob of Bovril added to give it tang) was as tasty as soup.
