It's hypocrisy on both sides, with the difference that we don't elect newspapers, but we do politicians. Newspapers don't need to be consistent, alas, and none of them are. Politicians DO need to be consistent, and few of them are. The shameful thing about Harriet Harmon is that there is no doubt - no doubt at all - that if someone from a different party was on the receiving end of this, she'd be one of the most vocal people supporting the paper's attack. THAT is the worst hypocrisy, and it runs through her career like a thread.

Daily Mail lusts after 14 year old.

It's hysteria, when I was 14 i'd have been pleased to get compliments over my appearance (rather than constant insults) - it boosts your confidence.

True, they should all wind their necks in a bit and check their own hands are clean before pointing the finger. But I don't think Harriet Harman's done anything intentionally wrong here AND their talking about something that happened 38 years ago - so no one says anything at the time, but now, 38 years later, when it's all way in the past, and all the children that were around in 1976 have all grown up, we're supposed to get 'outraged' by it...

Oh that's the thing; get outraged by incidents from 40 years ago! The oldest false allegation against me (thrown out by the Judge before the trial, as so many were) was from 1969. 45 years ago!

Yes, but who was one of the first to scream and shout during Plengate? Good old Harriet. Who was one of the first to attack Smith et al over the floods? Harriet again. Who was one of the first to parrot every unproven accusation against any opponents during Leveson? Harriet again. Who was one of the first to denounce anyone and everyone dragged into the Savile saga? Harriet again. She is a quite astoundingly shameless, supremely hypocritical person, who switched principles throughout her career in order to keep her grubby little hands on power, right up to when she went from being a rabid Blairite flag-waver for the war in Iraq to being a tub-thumping champion of David Miliband, and then the most bullish supporter of Ed Miliband. There isn't a scintilla of integrity in her body or brain. A contemptible creature.

I meant "Plebgate," of course. Darn this system!

Can they not find something more recent to dredge up and get outraged about? If not, maybe that's actually good thing...

True, so she's asked for this criticism really...

Which is why the allegations should be investigated ... she will "suck up" to any weird group if she thinks there is something for her in it.
