Greater Manchester Police are to be investigated in three separate inquiries by the police watchdog over allegations made by a serving officer.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it would look at the Harold Shipman case, claims of covering up failings in a sexual abuse case and bugging a police office.
The IPCC said the claims include corruption and cronyism.
PCs up to Assistant Chief Constable Terry Sweeney will be investigated.
