Coalition Split 11 Years, 4 Months ago
....on immigration. Fundamental differences between Clegg/Cable and the Tories.

Perhaps the beginning of the end.

Lib/Labs are becoming a real probability...

Some people !

Remember, the Con / Lib was generated out of a massively confused Labour Party who had 'lost an election' but didn't want to give up power......so if they had anything about them, they would have given ground and done a deal with the Libs......but guess what folks? In a deal, you give ground....Lab just wanted the Lib votes and then to carry on regardless...........

Can you begin to imagine the 'same old' going on compared to now, where at least fresh eyes have assessed and dealt with the situation as I beleive any right opene minded person would have wanted them to............

Cue a raft of Labout die hards and socialists who will rough shod the arguement and just balther on about Tories are sh*t, out for themselves, Libs weak etc.......

If the Libs wanted power, they could have saved the country and done a deal with Gordon! Was he oferring a power share? Was he heckerslike.........The Libs showed a touch of intergrity by turning Labour down.

Also remember, Mr Reason, that the Libs didn't want to be seen as propping up a "failed" government - so the Lib / Lab coalition was a non-starter from the off.

The Liberal Democrats will do whatever it takes to remain with some power.

And they'll suceed.

Whether its with Labour or the Tories is unimportant.

Undoubtedly, another coalition is coming - although hardly between Labour and the Tories?

However, it has happened before.

I'm afraid the view of Andrew is what I meant..............any minor partner will look like its a power grab, but clearly the last election had rejected your beloved Labour, Libs getting into bed with them would have handed power to those who were not deserving , whatever you say.........Brown showed that by not taking the message and trying to cling on.....cling onto power to take the country down that long winding diminishing tunnel of gloom.....

And your arguement is based on hatred of Tory tw*ts..........great debating fella, except it's not really

Tories and Libs have done more bullshitting than Labour, remember the Tory policy which was promised for workers to sack their bosses ? IDS has fucked up the DWP and only thing he can do well is escaping for Parliment.

I prefer to remember 13 years of the previous regime and I cringe at a no show promised Euro referendum, bullsh*t war criteria, doctored dossiers, unbelieveable inquiry into the death of the leaked academic chap, laughable millennium dome content, as much guilt as anyone for being in Murdochs pocket, poor financial control, mega budget spending, sale of gold too cheap (and self appointed inquiry to say it was a good idea), blather about prudence, culture of cronyism, lack of ability to assume responsibility for bad decisions.......and wait for it......

Blaming the end on a world crisis! This was a British Government encouraging spend and borrowing on mega scales with no appreciation of a snap shot of where it was leading....which should be a governments job, and then claiming it was nowt to do with them. I can never forgive the contempt that a government of that type has treated the working people of the UK, and they expect a short memory to be given another chance? When major advisors and players are still there...........

If you have rose tinted glasses, a heart for big forgiveness, a dogmatic view of political beliefs, and most likely A VERY SHORT MEMORY.......then what can I say other than the above applies, but seems to be endorsed by the current opponents of the current government......

.......why was it funny for the outgoing Exchequer team to leave a not claiming 'the cupboard was bare'? Is that a joke? Was that humourous in the context? No. It was downright contempt towards the tax payer and electorate......I for one will do my upmost to remind people of the 1997-2010 period so conveniently forgotten by Labour supporters

People always blame the government, we had a unelected PM called Bottle Brown who sold gold cheap, Tories closed the pits millions on the dole, our seas are littered with turbines when there is coal we can burn.

People always blame the Government. We had an unelected PM called Bottle Brown who sold gold cheaply. The Tories closed the pits; millions were left on the dole. Our seas are littered with turbines when there is coal we can burn.

There - a bit of punctuation. That wasn't too much of a strain, was it?

He was elected! As an MP....so can rightfully be Prime Minister in the UK system.

We don't elect a PM like a President.........

It's the system that makes everyone think it's the person you are voting for, you are not, you vote for a party and their nominated leader gets the job......

Can you justify Falklands wars ? Many people are now saying the Afgan war, Iraq war are justified.

Crickey, one hand saying always blaming past govnmts then jumping 30 years and talking Falklands......

Ok, I'll say short sharp war, uk still there, potential mining rights secured......just like the Victorian era. Job done, strategically wise

Don't get your ref or question bout Tory's and expenses under Major? Bit cryptic for me.
