I like the music, I like the band, I am 'out about this' and I don't care.....but thank the lord, oh thank the lord this drivel of the last 12 years has been consigned to history...........

They must have made £££'s.....and maybe it is drying up awful

If any big band has been distorted by their most well-known hits it's surely Queen. I love lots of their music but I HATE 'We are the Champions' - horrible sentiment, made even worse by being over-played by every over-literate moron who wins something - and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' - no doubt a fine song but I don't know how anyone who lived through all the weeks that was played can stand to hear it now. Give me their lesser-known songs any day.

A classic example of elongating the "brand"

I have always thought that if I die and go to hell I will be watching "We will rock you" on a loop.

I used to think the worst thing about Queen were 'Queen fans' - but nowadays I'm torn between the fans, their post-86 output and, perhaps worst of all, what Taylor & May have done to the groups once carefully-protected legacy and back catalogue since John Deacon walked out in dismay.

I still love their music - I do have a tendency to avoid computer-generated oldies stations and gushing misinformed ITV music programmes so deliberately avoid exposure to the over-exposed and thus still can appreciate Bohemian Rhapsody & co - but the 'Brand Queen' has become absolutely tiresome. They had a remarkable 20 year legacy, over 20 years ago. That has been tarnished by collaborations with every piss-poor boyband and talent show contest winners under the sun.
