I think this is the most interesting information to emerge. We may slag off our police but they deserve praise for unearthing this crucial and valuable potential suspect. I only wish it had been spotted closer to the event (the ones that took place before Madeleine's disappearance).

As far as I recall, both police forces were informed of this "intruder" years ago. Just another red herring.

I wouldn't trust anything that the current DCI in charge is involved in. In fact I wouldn't trust him directing traffic in the Sahara.

British plod having been put in the position and with belief they are superior investigators need to keep coming up with "suspects".

whatever happened to the team of burglars they were after a few weeks back ?

still nothing like an extended stay on the Algarve.
