I've just seen some debris ! 11 Years, 4 Months ago
... it was in the gutter, I saw it as I was driving home.

Could it be from the missing plane ?

Search vehicles, please !!!

I'll tell you what I think is odd ....

They manage to "find" debris - when scouring entire oceans from as far away as a satellite - BUT when they actually go to the specific area (allowing for currents, wind speed etc) they find nothing !

Mike Barton, operations co-ordinator at Amsa, said: "Part of the description was a wooden pallet and a number of other items which were nondescript around it and some belts of some different colours around it as well, strapping belts of different lengths."

Pallets are used for shipping as well as plane cargo and Mr Barton urged caution, saying the sighting "could be anything".

Tragedy humour... 11 Years, 3 Months ago
With about 240 deaths now very likely, this now will be one of the worst aviation disasters of all time. Top 10.

Attempts at humour - about such a shattering incident - are crass, sad and for the most basic of intellects.

... and about 170 odd in the mudslide in the USA - which is hardly getting any coverage at all.

The missing plane leaves more questions than it answers -

We still have no idea why the plane went off course,
still have no idea whether any outside influence was involved,
still don't know whether pilot suicide (why?) was involved,
still don't know whether the plane is where they say it is

This is a conspiracy theory person's dream scenario ...

As I said at the very outset - is there something we are not being told?

Apologies regarding the year being wrong. I should have checked before posting.

Agree about the Mudslide disaster. Surprised it's getting little coverage. I was there last autumn - just after they had repaired the Interstate bridge that collapsed last year. (A bit of a hot-spot for disasters!)

Perhaps there is a blueprint for the news media ... one disaster per day / one major political story / one sport story / one "feelgood" story etc ?

How else could you explain ANY coverage of the paralympics ????

Put simply, public interest.

Over 2b (2,000,000,000) watched the Sochi games - about a quarter of the people on earth. 1.6b watched the Vancouver Paralympics in 2010.

I think you confuse "public interest" with people just gawping at a TV screen and watching whatever was on !

There was such "public interest" that not a single word was said on this board about them !

In fact the Para Association announced the viewing figures 100 days before the games even started !

Channel 4 was the official broadcaster for the Sochi paralympic games -
paralympics.channel4.com/

The games DID NOT actually even register in the Top 30 !

(Opening ceremony March 7th - Closing ceremony March 16th)

www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-top-30?

Couldn't even beat the 0.89 million registered by "Come Dine With Me" !!!!

Yes, of course, you're right.

2b people didn't know what they were watching!

They were just 'gawping'...
