TOPIC: Tories now level with Labour
#113178

Tories now level with Labour 11 Years, 4 Months ago
.... In the latest Sunday Times opinion poll.

Labour's slim lead has been slipping recently, and no doubt the Budget has tipped the latest figures as people realise that the Tories are the best party to handle fiscal responsibility.

Contrast this with the riots today in Madrid, where the latest austerity measures show just what dire straits that country is in.

The 'contrast' is tenuous, vague and obscure.

Riots in Madrid. A UK budget...!

If Labour had a hope in hell they would be way ahead in the polls at this point, especially as the Conservatives seem hell bent on losing it for themselves!

... and another poll shows Labour support slumping -

A Survation poll for The Mail on Sunday shows Labour on 35 (up one point on their January rating), the Tories on 34 (up four), UKIP on 15 (down three) and the Lib Dems on nine (down three).

They ALL show the same thing - a collapsing Labour vote !

ukpollingreport.co.uk/

Variations since the beginning of March range from Labour +9 to Labour +1 - and these are just "intentions".

How many will actually turn out to vote?
How many (at the last minute) will think "better the devil you know"?

One more term with David and then its PM Boris !

I'm sure Nigel will be eternally grateful.

The Labour voters will be in bed - unless its dole day - I'm hoping for rain (they never come out and vote if its raining !)

I honestly think, 1 year and a bit to go, that unless Milliband packs it in, it's a highway to reform for the Labour Party....................or, they could drop Balls........

I seriously think he's a big, big liability.....if they change now, all my bets would be off

Far too late now, Mr Reason.

If they had dropped Silliband a couple of years ago then they would have had chance to build (and sweep away the disasters of the past).

By retaining those who caused the disasters they have shown they have learnt nothing ... are completely incompetent and should never be trusted with the British economy again.

They predicted disaster - it hasn't happened. The economy is recovering nicely.
They didn't have an alternative - except borrow, spend, borrow, spend.

Anyone know where the nearest Wonga shop is ?

Democracy was always flawed but it's obvious (to me anyway) how it has been twisted and perverted in the past 20 years - certain politicians swept into power backed by huge multinational businesses, who as soon as they got into then pressed on with rendering the political system toothless.
By the time said 'populist reformists' apparently stood down (but merely took back seats) all that we have is a pale imitation of the 'old system'. The three-shades-of-blue leaders even look like they've been created in politician factory! The current crap crop of Tories are all adopting cartoon roles (like actors in a bad farce) - Bumbling Boris, Nasty Iain, Drippy Dave, Gormless Gove etc. They'll do their jobs and then be rewarded with directorships and an easy life, then the next lot of actors will be "voted in".

When Bez of the Happy Mondays - adopting the persona of Frank from Shameless - talks more sense than actual politicians we're in trouble.

And the Tory's aren't doing exactly the same thing?

Why then has the National Debt increased by 84% in the last four years? To £1,400,000,000,000!

£1.4 trillion. Almost 90% of GDP.
