The new proposed law regarding emotional abuse will surely include sending children away to boarding school. But this prosecution of historical behaviour with modern laws of current morality has to stop. It's mad.

Should I prosecute my parents (both dead) for doing what they were told was best for me when I was 7? Should I prosecute horrid Stoke House and ASRPyper for thrashing me regularly then?

Should I prosecute public schools and Charterhouse in particular (other pupils - Jeremy Hunt MP, Max Hastings, the Dimblebys) for locking me in (educational) prison from the age of 13?

Absurd. Stupid. Ludicrous. As a society we need to grow up.

Can I sue my parents for sending me to 3 C.E schools ?

I would most certainly have a case as my late parents sent me 2 older brothers to a very grand school yet I was sent to very (very) minor school.

This was because my father said : "whats the point?..the 2 older lads came out as stupid as they went in. Just a waste of money" so they would have a case as well.

total sheer madness.

And now I see there's a witch hunt about another prep school going back years. Really, the effort, expense and nastiness expended on these costly and time consuming investigations into people, most of whom are dead, is a total waste of money, isn't it? We need that money; for schools, for hospitals, for health care, for benefits, for policing current crime.

When are we going to get a government that says this loudly and clearly? Puts a statute of limitations on sex offences unless there is hard evidence?
