Dated emotions, morality, styles, influences - yet intriguing. 1948. Black and white. Essentially about a one night stand; from the point of view of two genders. But very complex and beautifully directed, if mannered from a bygone era. With a marvellously subtle ending. Those days of horse drawn carriages, operas and duels, honour, disease, trains...
That's one of the magnificent glories of getting old - there are always new (and old) things to discover, and you have the time and inclination to do it!
