Does it really not strike anybody in the media that false allegations (preferably against dead people) can sometimes do no harm to anyone (if they are dead) and can make lots of money from the tax payer? Isn't this a motive for invention or exaggeration?

The only people who lose out are those needing hospitals, education, benefits - because the funds are used up by false accusers.

Perhaps we should all make claims and give the money to the hospital who should have had the money in the first place!
What sort of person takes money from sick children and family members? Even if the "crimes" happened its a fat lot of good now he's dead.

Well, I'm a "witness" to your assault, honey! (don't you remember? Is it starting to come back now?) .... and I'm pretty sure you witnessed my assault, didn't you?

Just watched Peter Saunders of NAPAC say on BBC "please give the money to NAPAC" (hopefully hundreds of viewers will have pledged cash to his fine organisation) and Garsden of Garsden Solicitors (almost bursting as another Northern firm seems to be getting far more business from poor, abused victims looking for financial support) urging victims of dead people to come forward and undergo the rigorous tests needed (subtext - a lawyer is far better equipped to represent you… for a small percentage).

Drooling greed, the lot of them.

fancy having to agree with ITK but it had to happen sometime.

the floodgates are open and this is just the beginning until politicians stop listening to goats like Saunders whose own tales of abuse change over the years.

statute of limitations for claims is needed (10 years in NSW) just as it is if you lose a leg or arm in accident.

"You will need some evidence to show that you were in a situation where Savile will have had the opportunity to abuse you."
We can hope that this criteria is strictly kept to, as I seriously doubt any of these accusers will have any evidence whatsoever other than unsubstantiated gossip and rumours.
Joanna Lumley should be on the review panel assessing evidence!

Can't you just see the delight in a few weeks from the media… "4000 more victims of Pervert Savile"!!!

Are police really happy devoting decades of man power and funds to checking out these claims (although I note they admit to never interviewing or investigating any of them - why bother? He's dead).

If I fell down a rabbit hole I'd find more sense than up here in the "real" world.

Not Too Late to Claim ! 11 Years, 2 Months ago
Never met Savile?

What about Cyril Smith?

Lawyers for those who have made allegations of abuse said they were considering taking legal action against the Lib Dems. (*)
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27170175

He's famous ...
He's DEAD ...
He's NOT been convicted of anything !
..... and they have the Savile blueprint to follow !

(*) Conveniently forgetting that he was a LABOUR Councillor when on the management committee of the boys home - but hey ! why let the facts and truth stand in the way of a good story?

....... and here's another one -

He's obviously guilty as -

a) he was rich (major businessman in the town)

b) he was successful (he was the Mayor)

c) he was a "friend" of Jimmy Savile !

Get the gallows ready !

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-26939467

1. Notice how the police (after refering themselves to the IPCC !) are "fishing" to create a case?

2. I would have thought that ANY Mayor would have known its most well-known resident (Savile)

PS - I wonder why none of these people ever remember (40 years later !) being abused by someone who ended up as a homeless tramp?
Just a thought ...........

Police have identified "a number of suspects" as part of an investigation into alleged sexual abuse at a school linked to the late MP Cyril Smith.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) added more alleged victims had come forward over claims about Knowl View School in Rochdale from the 1970s.

The allegations related to at least 11 potential suspects.

Rochdale Council said it was launching an inquiry into a possible abuse cover-up at the residential school for boys.

It is understood nine people have contacted police to say they were abused from the 1970s onwards by adults at the school, which closed in 1992.

No-one has been arrested.

GMP Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy said: "I would like to appeal for victims of abuse to come forward.

Shameless trawling ... so much easier than REAL police work (where someone may make a complaint !!!)
