Absolutely massive Easter Spring Clean 11 Years, 2 Months ago
After 48 years I decided the time had come for a huge throw out. Sad to see perfect working TVs (analogue) getting chucked; superb, working speakers (with built in amplifiers); over 1000 books; "beat boxes" (James insisted on taking one); old video machines (including the very first model that Kenny Everett and I bought at the same time); clothes - enough to make the whole of Africa fashion icons; records, CDs, tapes; photos; cards; furniture, tables, chairs, sofas; telephones; elderly mobiles and their brick batteries; fantastic old saucepans and frying pans and pots and pans; studio equipment; guitars; samplers; computers; ancient Microsoft Word stuff (the very first instruction manual was bigger than an encyclopaedia); thank heavens for friends and brother Andy who did all the lifting and carrying (I am almost 70) although I did help the rubbish collectors (to their surprise).

Anyway, all gone now - a lovely empty house and about £10,000 worth of nostalgia on a tip somewhere, hopefully getting recycled.

The folks at the missing episodes forum may have been interested in the tapes.
Did you have anything TV related (or Radio) that would have been of value?
Too late now anyway.

I am as horrified as MCR seems to be.

The brick mobiles are fetching quite a bit on Ebay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-VINTAGE-MOTO...;hash=item5664277960

Mind you, for collectors/hoarders it is much easier to sling the lot rather than have to decide what goes where.

You should of sold everything JK, you of taken the metal out of the TV's and sell them to a scrap dealer.

Oh yes! I love the idea of Mr King wearing a Delboy sheepskin coat and haggling with the scrap man.

That would be class to see, if JK had a trilby hat, black suit and fine cigar then we have another Arthur Daly.

CD's should of been taking to music magpie, furniture should be donated if no longer wanted, same with LP's, people will buy clothes it's about 50p a kilo. The electrical items should be opened up and have all the metal stripped out, some TV's etc have gold in if your lucky. JK you could of made £1000 tax free and cash in hand.

Amongst the many gems unearthed - a Christmas card from the Editor of the News of the World signed - To Jonathan with much love - Piers.

Hmm… a similar card was the key evidence against me at my trial (except my message read "Best wishes to your family"). Wonder if I could get compo from dear Morgan?
