Even if Max Clifford is guilty,(we have to assume he is) I am sure most would agree that the evidence seemed at best flimsy and at worst ridiculous.
If trials are not fair it harms every one of us.

There is another problem that comes with celebrity cases - the jury would have a preconceived impression of him and it probably was not very favourable.

this 'same behaviour' "evidence" from 40 years ago is bizarre.

it just shouldn't be allowed to be used.

Or maybe they did have a favourable impression of him, given that he is known to have been involved in a number of 'campaigns' particularly those surrounding the NHS.

It really depends how "switched on" the jury is - we assume that all the members of the jury had also had heard of him, too.

He is all that and more, but he is irrelevant in the real story....That people who cant possibly defend themselves are being convicted for trumped up "crimes" that were normal (if unpleasant) at the time.
It could just as easily be any one of us.

We're very close on our predictions on Max's sentence. You predict 18 months. I suggest 2 years. Whoever is most out pays for our next breakfast/lunch? (If he gets 21 months we split the bill!!
