Clifford behaved like every guilty bully trying to hide by blustering about others. The signs were there when he condemned you so loudly. I'm not surprised that was what prompted the first woman to complain to her friends. A lucky chance that friend knew you. A really fascinating film.

I’ve not watched the film yet, but I do remember Max speaking at an In The City seminar in Manchester in the early 1990s. (Possibly 1994 or 95). He claimed that to minimise the chances of stories concerning his own clients being published he leaked alternative stores to “take the heat off his client”. Little did we realise that he was including stories about himself that he was keeping the lid on.

Thank you Pru. And Freddy - I've had many calls from people astonished to discover that when the original complainant against me went to Max (as you would, not to police or doctors) he didn't mention me. Not surprising, since he'd never met me. Max sent him away with a flea in his ear, saying without a celebrity there was no story to sell.
Which was when the man suddenly "remembered" me.
I found it extraordinary (all this was admitted) that the police then took him seriously.

Sadly, and rightly, the argument would be - just because he's a paedo doesn't mean I'm not.
Bet he gets a far shorter sentence than I did - despite all my (non) victims saying they loved coming to visit me (and even the Judge saying there was no "coercion") and being 14 and 15 - not 12. Because, of course, mine were male and his were female and 14 years ago that was only shortly after gay sex had stopped being a crime.
Even the fact that there was no complaint against me until he provoked and suggested it wouldn't be seen as proof of my innocence.
Hey, when I can prove I was in America when the alleged crime took place in London - the CCRC says "it's not when but whether something happened" that matters (ignoring the fact that five seconds makes the difference between legal and illegal) - you can understand why I think "why bother?".

Suspended.
He's 71, with no (apparent) previous convictions - and these "assaults" were (on the scale of things) relatively minor.
It does not benefit society to put him in prison - and now that everyone knows he's got a "small one" I don;t think he will bother anyone ever again LOL !

Nice to see you included Dave Jones, the football manager. I met him at Sheffield Childrens Hospital a few years ago and have a wonderful photo of my son with the players. Seemed a really decent chap; they spent hours at the hospital.

That as may be, but they insisted on banging up Hapless Hall and he foolishly pleaded guilty.
Given the (staged) multi-pronged attack on Waxie from the usual suspect (the 'Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse') there will be pressure on the judge to make an example of him. The powers that be are desperate to lock the vicious little stoat away.
I predict a fairly hefty custodial sentence despite him pleading mitigating circs re his daughter. Not only that, Slater & Moron are busy racking up more 'victims' as they eye up the financial prize. His business could well be targeted if crimes were committed in the workplace, which many of the incidents seem to have been. Expect more charges as the Met smell blood, and Max to be 'Hall'd' before the courts a second time.

No ITK: I think you'll find the Judge will want to be seen to be strict (they always do) but also that he's not influenced by the media (they always are - I got 7 years instead of the guide lines 2 due to being a minor celebrity).
So I predict 18 months, of which he'll serve 9 months. Out just in time for 2015.
