TOPIC: Clarkson and the N word
#114821
Clarkson and the N word 11 Years, 2 Months ago
I get a feeling of Deja Vu as I watch Clarkson's obviously tongue-in-cheek "apology" (media doesn't get irony). I remember having to change the lyric of The Sun Has Got His Hat On to "he's been tanning NEGROES down in Timbuktu". Judging the behaviour of yesterday by the mores of today.

Those fig leaves will be coming back soon. Fortunately MichelAngelo's divine David will (like Waxie) only need a tiny one.

he really is an infuriatingly annoying prat but I do like watching him

hugely successful show that I enjoy except when they review cars no-one can afford. Bit boring then.

can't someone just say something wrong today, apologise and get on with it ?

given half a chance the public may request public whippings and hangings urged on by the tabloids.

Its a flaming nursery rhyme for goodness sake! And people are pantwetting with glee over a slip up while turning a blind eye to actual slavery.
Its bonkers.

Dark media forces looking to bring down a popular celebrity.....if it isn't Clarkson its somebody else..........its tongue in cheek, its fun poking, its media baiting, its actually quite irrelevant in the scale of things, but when the media fixates.......man, doe sit fixate.......

I think Clarkson has got far too big for his boots. The BBC won't do anything as TG IS Clarkson and if he goes, TG goes.
TG has got incredibly purile in the last couple of series - I actually hanker after the old Top Gear that was a motoring magazine on BBC2 at 2030 on a Wednesday night with William Woollard testing normal cars.

And in the beginning they even had a female presenter (Angela Rippon).

If old top gear was any good, why did 5 stop making 5th gear?

Clarkson will never be sacked, BBC would love to of course they know how many viewers it gets worldwide, DVDs are usually Christmas number 1 in the charts and it's also one of the most downloaded programmes, also rival channel network would do another Top Gear format show with Clarkson.
