Big question we all need to know 11 Years, 2 Months ago
Just who exactly (name not job) signed the letter from Surrey Police hanging on Max Clifford's office wall? If anyone happens to be in there (possibly re-decorating) perhaps they could let us know. Several enquiries about this.

Given that Clifford's habit (when boasting) was to volunteer names when they were genuinely the top people, and settle for being vague when the names belonged to underlings, I suspect his ambiguous references mean the letter didn't come from the top. That's mainly why I suspect it's a lesser name.

Good thinking Pru and the Chief Constable at the time was Denis O'Connor who came across on Leveson as extremely slippery, so probably wouldn't have wanted to put his name on anything likely to come back to haunt him. He's now, like Marjoram, the man responsible for failing to find Levi Belfield, retired. But the middle man, Denholm, currently Assistant CC in Hampshire, strikes me as the perfect candidate.

honey!oh sugar sugar. wrote: I am pretty sure there never was a letter and if there was it could only have been signed by the MWT idiot.
He made a point of showing it, framed, to several journalists who visited his office to do profiles, Honey. Hattenstone being one of them. I did have a quick look at the old Theroux doc last night but it wasn't shown in that. I guess Angela Levin, his hired hack, would know the details.
