a wonderfully intelligent woman who despairs of those who have abrogated the term "feminism".

perhaps the difference here is that GG actually likes men and has spent most of her time trying to convince women not to self oppress themselves rather than promote a man-hate agenda.

... or perhaps she was one of the main protagonists and now see the error of her ways (or just another opportunity to get some publicity) ?

I was at Cambridge with Germaine, Hedda. Intelligent she certainly is but the word "wonderful" is not one I'd use about her! Her book on Boys was brave and accurate.
