Ukip's voters will still back the party at the general election

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2644441...es-Nigel-Farage.html

'Party is predicted to retain 86% of its support from the European elections'

Lib Dems in meltdown, will Clegg still be leader at the election?
Watch out for Milliband to play his trump card, agree to an EU Referendum, then do an election pact with UKIP. It's his guarantee of being next pm.

I'll bet UKIP win no seats at all in the General Election.

Thats not quite what the poll says, Pattaya ! (nice "spin", though !)

The poll says 49 per cent said that they were ‘likely’ to vote for Ukip (but just as likely to vote for a real party!), while 14 per cent said that they would probably back another party.

Most will have forgotten all about Ukip by this time next year ... in fact the real test is in Newark (this week). If they cannot take that (and they won't!) while they are "fresh" in people's minds they will be deader than a Labour party leader by this time next year !!!

Under the current electoral system you're likely to be correct Mr King.
However it does raise the scenario of the biggest party having no representation. If any but the fool Clegg had been in charge of the referendum on voting reform!

... the biggest party, eh?

Even after their spectacular 'win' you cannot name a single member
(who doesn't have a German wife !)

ITK you're the expert at fiddling the results of polls lol...I'll bow to your superior....

They were the biggest party at the last election, and as most of their dis-tractors are making the same mistakes as you,and missing the whole point about where their popularity is coming from I'll drop a hint....it's not the idiots at the top,it's the fact that the idiots at the top of the governing parties have broken their promises.....
.....Newark,it's a by-election,hardly representative, and if they push the Tories into a narrow win it'll be seen as a victory....after all they only got a few votes last time,it's the Tories with a whopping big majority.

... unfortunately (for Ukip) the Tories have whopping majorities in many places (and where they don't Labour or the LibDems have whopping majorities) !

It's true that 10% of voters tend to swing elections (floating voters have have no allegiance) ... and the election outcome is decided in a few "key" marginals - BUT those few marginal wins are added to the solid stable powerbase that the winning party already has.

Ukip has no powerbase.

A handful of nutters soon fade into the distance when the majority turn out to vote (they only stand out when the majority FAIL to turn out).

Talking of nutters ....

I see someone is standing in Newark for the Loony Party - is that a shortened version of the Monster Raving Loony party, or have Labour officially changed their name (again)?

btw ... Ukip's Roger Helmer (standing in Newark) - you see, I know of more than one member of Ukip even if their 'supporters' don't ! - has employed an Italian assistant !!!

Wonder how that sits with "keep the foreigners out and jobs for the Brits?" - but on the plus side, at least he hasn't got a German wife (on expenses)

The problem with the fringe-loony supporters is that they don't think (well, understandable under the circumstances isn't it?)
