Max Clifford witnesses 11 Years, 1 Month ago  
how did we get to this situation?

13 witnesses gave evidence at Clifford's trial yet they were not at the scene of the alleged crimes.

all say they were told of his crimes after they happened. Hearsay.

will it come to calling people who gossip over the back fence or watch a youtube video?

Yes. People say all sorts of rubbish and I wonder how many of these cases start by someone telling porkies about sleeping with a star and years later their friends suggest it was rape and tell them to prosecute and they have to, or be exposed as a raving liar.
