Finally watching Series 2 of The Bridge 11 Years, 1 Month ago
Missed the start of it on TV so bought the box set. My God it's good. The detectives are so unusual, so well written and acted. Loving it so far.

Don't want to spoil it if, you, like me, are catching up on DVD but the cliff hanger at the end of Episode Three is extraordinary!

The character of Saga is stunning. Clearly borderline Aspergers, her relationship with other characters makes brilliant TV. Bad skin (real or makeup?). Loving this series. I urge you to buy the DVD.

I'm watching the US one and it's terrific. But On Sunday a new series started called The Tunnel and it was exactly the same story ???

Ah I'm referring to the Scandinavian/Danish/Swedish original. The first series was superb. The second is even better. Subtitled.

There's four similar series - three called The Bridge.

Between Denmark/Sweden (original), two suburbs of Toronto and USA/Mexico.

Another, based around the Channel Tunnel and UK/France, is called The Tunnel.

Like The Killing (and its imitators), the original Scandinavian version is the best.

always a problem with subtitles...TV puts me to sleep so I can slip into Nirvana as the characters ramble on but if they say something i don't understand and it sounds dramatic I wake up suddenly , re-wind and watch over again.

awake all night then thanks for nothing

Asperger - and TV 11 Years, 1 Month ago
The original series has been copied three times - from Scandinavia, into Canada, USA and the UK.

Because the lead actor has Asperger; which makes it difficult to communicate in the 'normal' way - but can be simultaneously brilliant, innovative, and child like. New - for TV.

In Homeland (the highly successful USA/CIA series), the lady who plays the lead has the same condition - which the CIA/White House has totally accepted.

We probably all know people like them and think them 'odd', according to our norm. But they just think in a different and, often, bring totally new concepts and ideas - to many tables/businesses/lives.

I know what you mean about subtitles Hedda - it makes late night viewing difficult.

Now watched the entire Series Two of the Danish original; quite superb; stunning, brave ending; if you missed it, do buy the DVDs - may well be the finest TV series of the year.
