It's the way they play it; first, allegations provoke high profile arrest, which prompts other allegations - true, false or simply exaggerated. More arrests, further allegations, of which a few (five in my case) might stand a chance of gaining a conviction and good publicity for police and CPS.

Assuming that people never make stuff up or inflate encounters for financial gain or other motives.

Which I can assure you they do.

Just really hope they do not get a person claiming to be around 12 or under that will really slim his chances of beating kangaroo court.

The problem is, John, "helpful"police suggest dropping the age. Who can prove she wasn't? I did manage to prove the 13 year old (I'd never met) would have been at least 16 and possibly as old as 19 but it made no difference to the few jurors who stayed (one walked out in disgust).

Yes JK I see the police and CPS manipulate. I saw your VP video as well as the others. You act the various partsin VP so brillantly that I do not even realise it is you changing places. But then again I am easily fooled. Well done and well put. Each of the situations I encounter make mefeel so helpless and frustrated to help. So I have to remind myself to switch off and have fun on a daily bases. I start each day saying it's a crazy world and finish up saying the same thing. I also agree that most people are decent, today I had to think through all the people I have meet in my life and I never have meet an extremely vile person at all. Some bullies at work. The rest I read in the paper. But re juries as you have noted taken from that general decent people are not thinkers at all. In fact they think what they are told to think that is the only concern I have with the general decent people.

There seems to be a pattern of prolonged consideration by juries for the 'Guilty verdicts' that appears to indicate they either do not understand the concept or 'Beyond Reasonable Doubt' or, worse, they are somehow being deliberately browbeaten and confused or even, somehow, nobbled.
Either or, somehow they drastically managed to swing from swift acquittals to prolonged convictions with the most flimsy of cases - the only one so far that seemed halfway believable was Waxie Maxie, and that was mostly an exercise in puerile humiliation as opposed to a criminal trial in a court of law.

similar to my late lawyer in Oz John Marsden- high profile solicitor accsued of 'cruising' Kings Cross in a Roller and picking up underage rent boys.

We all knew John was into 'rough trade' and certainly not youngsters- and the Rolls was lent to him for a week but it became part of the legend.

He sued for libel,one of the longest cases, and the 2 boys who were being kept in luxury hotels by a TV station for nearly 2 years with police feeding them information, turned out to be well over 18 when Marsden had picked them up (via a long process- interior decorators saying when they decorated his house etc)

Got $6M in damages, the highest ever libel payout. Teeth fell out and he died a year later in Istanbul- the stress did him in.

I remember that well JK it was absurd my dad painted the garage door several times and I can't even remember what colour it was originally.
