TOPIC: BBC - DLT/Savile/JK

BBC - DLT/Savile/JK 10 Years, 9 Months ago
I've had no reply to my letter to Tony Hall, the DG of the BBC, suggesting that they stop programming by a tiny minority of brain dead moaners and media editors looking for a good anti-BBC story and start judging what they transmit by quality, honesty, entertainment and information data. I gather twenty complaints about my appearance on the Genesis documentary were received. Hopefully 200 will now contact the BBC complaining about deleted Top of the Pops and other shows and protesting about the Stalinist revision of history and the editing of the past for no good reason. Censoring coverage of the past is not only unfair but dangerous.

Do they record how many sent emails to say how glad they were that you were included?

It's quite clear from that disgusting 'story' that someone at the BBC has a vested interest in destroying Dave Lee Travis. It is also an insult to those who want their history books without missing pages. Some people said I was being "OTT" and even "paranoid" about this two years ago.
Who do they think they are - The Ministry Of Truth?

It's time that this was taken to another level - I don't know just who they think they are.

Some thoughts of mine here:

We all know, of course, that the Daily Mail and Murdoch's papers are obsessed with emasculating the BBC, but the Guardian epitomises middle class liberal cowardice in the way it just sits back and lets it happen. Look at this article from today's paper - just as pathetically prejudiced and cynical as anything in the papers it pretends to tower above:

The BBC has confirmed it will mothball editions of Top of the Pops featuring Dave Lee Travis.

The corporation had pulled episodes of the show which he hosted from its schedule of weekly BBC4 repeats following his arrest nearly two years ago and future programmes in which he features will now be dropped following his conviction for indecent assault.

The latest decision comes despite the BBC agreeing to include appearances by convicted child sex offender Jonathan King - who was given a seven-year sentence for his crimes against underage boys - in editions of the show.

King, who was put on the sex offenders register following his release from prison in 2005, was also recently interviewed for a documentary about the rock band Genesis.

The scheduling of Top of the Pops repeats has been badly affected by claims against presenters and some of the participants. A number of shows were pulled as a result of the abuse scandal which emerged following the death of Jimmy Savile, and then Travis was subject to a number of claims which resulted in two criminals trials.

Appearances by Gary Glitter, who has also been convicted of sex offences, have been removed from editions of the show and a performance by King was initially cut from a programme. However, King complained that it amounted to a ”Stalinist revision of history” and received a letter from then director general Mark Thompson apologising and assuring him that he would not be cut if the programme were to be screened again.

Travis was given a three-month sentence last month, suspended for two years.

A BBC spokeswoman said: “The BBC will not show Top of the Pops repeats fronted by Dave Lee Travis. We will consider any other archive appearances on a case-by-case basis.”

Asked why King and Travis’s appearances were being treated differently, she said their decisions were “made on a case-by-case basis”.

King featured in the BBC2 documentary Genesis Together And Apart and he appeared briefly to talk about how he produced their first album after discovering them when visiting pupils at Charterhouse, the school which he had also attended.

Conservative MP Rob Wilson criticised his inclusion in the programme, adding: “After everything that has happened, you would have thought the BBC would steer clear of convicted paedophiles.”

His appearance has led to 20 complaints to the BBC from viewers and broadcasting regulator Ofcom received three complaints which it is currently assessing.

Explaining his inclusion the BBC said: “As Jonathan King played a significant role in discovering Genesis during their early years he appears briefly in the documentary.”

Actually, that's fucking disgusting, what they're doing. Tony Blair launched an illegal and immoral invasion and occupation that resulted in the deaths of most likely well over a million people. Why are they still showing him. Then there's my imaginary friend here who gets upset every time mention is made of the 1989 US invasion of Panama because it reminds him of what hypocrites we are for condemning the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq less than a year later. Both resulted in about 3000 deaths. Oh, wait, I forgot. That one has more or less been completely erased from history anyway. What was it Orwell said? "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past."

Bullshit.

agree that the Guardian's 'middle class' cowardice is annoying.

It's an era of mass intimidation and what that Guordian piece should have pointed is that 20 complaints out of 60 million people is less than a flea bite.

As for the BBC - they once stood up to bullies like Mary Whitehouse who was able to marshal thousands of supporters into complaining so this is more evidence of a Witch Hunt : those in power become terrified of going against the mob in case it turns on them as well.

I'm afraid I cannot respond as I neither know - nor recognise - any "paedophile sympathisers". Nor do I communicate with such dimwitted arseholes in 140 characters or less, that's not my style. Twitter is bizarre enough without entering into trading insults with Daleks.

It may have upset The Great Deceiver, granted - or it may be Lizzie's brave 'Rolf Harris' campaign, and there were some JS-related Anna Raccoon blogs being tweeted today, and then there's this - Moor Larkin's latest. MWT doesn't come very well out of this one at all. jimcannotfixthis.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/...ant-infirmation.html

Is it not double standards when the BBC thought it was OK to have a convicted murderer on one of their soaps, namely Dirty Den?? Silly me, rumours and grabbing someone's tits is much more serious than taking someone's life. I do not have a problem with Lesley Grantham getting on with his life btw, just pointing out double standards!

I welcome media outlets giving reformed (?) murderers a chance just as the News of the World hired a journalist who had drowned his wife in the bath.

the problem is as you point out, they are selective about who they decide to persecute.

Basically..cowards.

Again i fear for anyone who has been successful in their lives that they are judged and tried before they even have there day in court, the fact the zionistic bbc wishes to censor its programming in line with witch hunts and media pressue shows exactly that the corperation is not transparent! Im busy now tearing my licence up lol

as I keep saying : he is a road crash on the way to happen.

Cannot reveal names but I know someone who is suing a freelance hack for libel after they made a very similar claim on Facebook : because the litigant questioned a recent conviction they were a "supporter of child abuse and an enabler"

Having seen some of the legal letters- the defamer has been told that unless they make a retraction and apology they will be sued for libel and even when they make that apology they must still pay legal costs to date of £10K.

And if they don't pay up a lien will be put on their house.

I shall report how this matter goes but you can see the difficulty the defamer is in- they can get out cheaply at 10 grand or risk maybe £100K plus in costs and grief.

I predict much more of this in the future but the main fact here is : the accuser has property therefore accessible money if a court case happens and I know this lawyer- he is swift on these liens on homes.

## that is why most of those ratbags accusing all & sundry of vile crimes : the Spiveys, Icke, Bill Maloney are basically potless, live in rented flats or council flats.

Of course MWT has a laid a groundwork of making rather sweeping accusations and also pointed ones : accusing Anna Raccoon, JK etc etc.

No sane hack would do this & he has stated that providing a secure home for his children is a motivation. Freud would agrees with me (he used to pick my mind for tips) people who are not bright often reveal their inner fears in strange ways.
