....... after how long ?

There should be a statute preventing people being put "on hold" for months / years ... in fact an arrest should not even be made until they are ready for Court.

And if you knew what he's been through over the past year. But he is well aware of how much worse it could have been - and has been for many people.

Yes - wouldn't it be nice - dreams... from the DG of the BBC "Dear Paul We are delighted to hear you are indeed innocent (as you always were - in this country you're presumed innocent unless or until found guilty in a court of law). And all your excellent shows are back on the air forthwith.".

have no interest at all in what he went through

Jumped right into the Savile madness and fed the flames making absurd claims that he couldn't possibly know if they were true or not.

Just another cog in the industry fanning the false allegation business belching out gossip (in the beginning)

Came to the conclusion 20 years ago that he just isn't very bright. Doubt his experiences will make a scintilla of difference in how he views the "witch hunt"- always struck me as 'unworldy' type, very insular with almost zilch interest in anything outside his own crafted world.

Hence his sheer shock at whipping up Savile hysteria and then having the spotlight turned on him

Note the weasil wording of the CPS.

Don't wish him bad and glad he is finally free but fuck him.

I imagine he has got an interesting story to tell, but in his own time and on his own terms.

20 seconds on BBC News. Interesting that neither media nor police nor CPS says "these liars making false allegations should be shot". Perhaps they don't believe anybody ever lies (unless they deny murder or rape or burglary or forgery or drug smuggling or being bent cops or phone hackers or bent journos…)

Judging by my phone and Email, there has been a mighty mood change amongst the public who have really turned against the witch hunt.

Quote JK, "the public who have really turned against the witch hunt."

Quote MWT, Gamble, bent-mainstream et al in denial: " What Witch-Hunt?! "

don't get me wrong..delighted he is now free to get on with his life.

a great example though of someone jumping into the media frenzy..he couldn't possibly of known what Savile did or didn't do..was just repeating idle gossip.

be very interested to see what follows on the media.

even 12 months is far too long to wait in a matter like this. At least anonymity should be mandatory for accused..if the claimant is granted it. Most unfair.

Limits could be put on the length of time a suspect is allowed to be held on bail in England and Wales, the home secretary has indicated.

Theresa May has asked the College of Policing to consider implementing a time limit.

This follows the cases of Paul Gambaccini, Jim Davidson and Freddie Starr - all were on bail for months before learning they faced no action.

Bail should not exceed 28 days, unless exceptional circumstances apply.

Mrs May wants to prevent people having to wait months or years before learning they will not be prosecuted, the BBC's home affairs correspondent Danny Shaw said.
