TOPIC: Oh dear more troll suicides
#122014
Oh dear more troll suicides 10 Years, 9 Months ago
I can just see all the brain dead morons checking into hotels and ending it all when they are exposed. Trolls. It seriously boggles the mind, the state of our species these days. Unable to cope with anything more than five letters.

Even worse are.. let's subvert one their phrases, call the likes MWT, Liz Dux & sinister BBC sneak Meirion Jones 'Troll Enablers'. Within minutes of Loose Women being aired on Monday, they took to their devices to condemn Judy Finnegan and deliberately distort/misrepresent the point she made very clearly.
In fact, whilst I won't deny the existence of more 'Brenda's' out there in Loony Land my guesstimate is around half of these 'trolls' are accounts created by lobby groups & organisations with vested interests in order to pursue their agenda and promote their message.

Yes, but Brenda Leyland was not a troll. Unless the definition is "someone with an unpopular opinion"

And that is just the problem, Honey; the blurring of definitions. Why? Because they make "a good story". For example, I'm not a child abuser. As you know and everyone knows - especially Editors and Hacks. But it makes a better story/headline to refer to me as such.

And we're all lazy. It's easier to say "trolls" than to invent an in between word.

"Trolls" are now just rude and unthinking Tweeters. But suicide and death is the punishment meted out (unintentionally or, rather, thoughtlessly) by society.

Brenda's "opinion" wasn't unpopular either (unless you mean unpopular with the McCann's, or the industry that has sprung up around them) - there's a veritable army of anti-McCann's & pro-McCann's all convinced that business has something to do with them. That's like the Bill Baloney's of this world claiming their "opinions" are also unpopular, when they're hard currency in 21st Century lunatic Britain. This idiocy is, tragically, very popular indeed in Twitterland & Forumsville

I've noticed there are so many on Twatter that are anonymous or have strange names and a few thousand followers. which means they most likely buy followers unless all the like minded link up with each other.

Don't quite agree with that, Honey; they are just better at concealing or justifying their trolling - like certain newspapers in the phone hacking scandal; those untouched by it just did it more cleverly or, quite possibly, legally.

Yes, I suppose so. Sky news just has the bigger platform that every fanatic would like.

I just watched Evil Angels with (the gorgeous) Meryl Streep playing Lindy Chamberlain..the 'Dingo took my baby" lady.

This happened when I wasn't in Oz but really- the similarities with the McCanns are so very similar with a certain amount of demented public (trolls) building up accusation upon accusation to produce a scenario that in the end, just wasn't true.

I met Lindy about 3 years ago and far from a 'cold uncaring" person the media seems to depict, or indeed watching her on TV she exudes a "toughness" that is not really there- just like the McCanns - she was a warm friendly bright person. I expected something else.

Even I (the font of most wisdom)can get influenced by the media into believing (not for long though) their preferred presentation of anything.
