Surely depends on where that 6% is Patt. If they are clustered in 20 seats, they would win all 20. If spread loosely amongst 600, they would win virtually none. I suspect that will be how UKIP ends up whereas Lib/Dems have the history and experience to know where and how to concentrate.

Some truth of course Mr King, but remember UKIP are also very strong in certain areas like Kent,so will no doubt be challenging themselves.
Where it will no doubt make the biggest difference is who UKIP take the votes off.An election is won and lost in marginals....middle England...very hard to predict how that will go...
....Whatever happens the Libs will be well down on the last election, just a question of how far down.

Remember the mess the Greens have caused in Brighton.

You KEEP forgetting (deliberately) that after the 2009 Euro elections Ukip dropped to ONLY 3% at the following GE.
An election is won and lost in marginals....middle England...very hard to predict how that will go...
And the Libs have a strong presence ACROSS the country - not just in a few doler areas.
No ITK,you must learn to read my posts better. UKIP in 2010 were more a protest party, but now have a longer history of being not just established, but have actually won a national election....what has changed?...
...The Euro crash, continued mass immigration...Coalition policies that have completely been useless like deficit reduction and colossal wasting of money on projects like Foreign aid and green energy...
...Clegg is frankly seen as silly and irrelevant,Cameron is seen as becoming UKIP light....recently after looking at how opinion polls were done UKIP rose to 24%...you keep saying they'll fade away....your Bakewell hunch has so far proved to be very inaccurate, let's see if with time the polls will tell us your story is true...absolutely no sign yet...Milliband awaits unless the Tories tie themselves to a UKIP pact....you can always hide amongst the tarts, pretty easy not to be noticed moi thinks.

But they "almost" won a "national election" in 2009 - and their vote collapsed at the folowing GE.
They only "won" because the majority didn't bother with it !
BNP did comparatively well in fringe elections like these - but never even registered when it mattered.
Very true ITK, BNP always went unnoticed but the Greens was on everyday on the local news.
They done what I predicted with their seat for Brighton and Hove raise taxes, be out of touch with the majority of people in Brighton and unions go on strike.
