No Offence committed - convicted! 10 Years, 9 Months ago
www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-29700430

I find this deeply disturbing.

A man in Australia is believed to be the first to have been convicted as the result of an undercover sting in which charity workers posed online as a 10-year-old Filipina.
Details of 1,000 men who contacted the fake child, nicknamed Sweetie, were sent to police around the world
The men had requested Sweetie perform sex acts in front of a webcam for cash.

One wonders if those posing as the ten year old got a sick kick out of it? I totally and utterly condemn anyone being convicted in this way. The powers that be creating criminal acts is the stuff of Clockwork Orange and 1984.

Rather like that idiot paedophile hunter...no offence has been committed you moron...you were posing as a child. You sick fuck!

Apologies for the bad language, but this sort of thing really angers me.

Absolutely with you FC. Absurd. They don't even claim to be real people I gather. Ridiculous and frightening. Wasn't entrapment a crime recently?

As far as I'm aware JK it was illegal in the states,,,not sure about here. Well obviously not. I will google and do some more research. The internet has become some kind of tool so that the State can criminalise people. George Orwell and Anthony Burgess got it about right with their genius writing. And I still believe Everyone's Gone To The Moon was a brilliant coded message about the future.

At least the police can stay in the warm. Knife wielding muggers are fine.

When undercover cops flashed erect penises at silly queens in cottages in years and moralities gone by, defence of entrapment got the fairies off. These days, watching a cartoon gets you sent to jail. I'm confused.

It depends on the situation. If the adults are on camera it must be obvious they are not a child? And how would they know that the men didnt think they were playing a weird sex game with another adult, like Colin Stagg in the Rachel Nickell case?
It is not so different from the "going equipped" law, where you can be charged for the intent of burglary, or if someone is arrested for carrying a knife.

MWTWATCHER

Re:No Offence committed - convicted! 10 Years, 9 Months ago
no entrapment law here in UK.
if you watch MWTs to catch a paedofile on youtube you see the end game, what you do not see is the pre match where they draw the person in which the transcrips of are never used in the case against the person.
This is under Attempt to meet a child following sexual grooming.
senario.
guy chats with girl 1 ie a 13-14-15 yr old and when the undercover/ entrapper is happy the barriers are down a second girl would be introduced nearer the entrapee. things like "my mum is out with her new boyfriend all the time, she does not care for me" also " my mobile is old, The green button broken I cant answer, text me" now they have the way of keeping communication up via text aswel as chat online. Now you also make the person talking to the undercover feel sorry for the child and also opens it up for the chatter to ask to meet up.
in real life said 13-14-15 yr old would tell chatter to F off but of course thats no good when you want an arrest.
ok, in 2007 265 men were arrested on attempts to meet but how many real life meets do you hear about ? not many I doubt but it happens where the person knows the victim.
The MET attempts to meet are put on hold as they are on tricky ground and there are many challenges waiting for it to fall from men caught in this way. MWT and now Stinson (burn ya school down) Hunter are carrying this on and that works for the MET and other forces, cost nothing and the public and press are Hi fiving them.
My opinion is it will some day be outlawed.
