What kind of mad people at the NHS 10 Years, 9 Months ago
thought it would be a good idea to pay GPs to diagnose dementia? Are they barking mad? I can't actually see any pluses and a million minuses. How much will they get in future for diagnosing flu?

It is a bit bonkers, but they already pay doctors for every child vaccinated, which means they cant give impartial advice about it.
I suppose it will force doctors to do further training about dementia, but it is not easy for them to train in anything.
Every year we invite GPs to come on a training day about eating disorders. For free. Guess how many turn up?
What they need is ongoing paid training and enough time with patients.
