'Jail cell-fies which show smirking prisoners living in luxury: How murderers, robbers and arsonists take photos with banned phones
Photos of murderers, robbers and thieves on Facebook show prisoners are flouting rules prohibiting cellphone use
Prisoners have uploaded selfies inside their cells, pictures with other prisoners or even snack food and drinks
The pictures reveal a life of luxury where prisoners are entertained by TV, Playstations and Champions League football'

What part of being locked up 23 hours a day with just a banned cellphone taking pics of yourself in your undies constitutes a 'living in luxury'?

If prisoners have banned phones, drugs, and goodness knows what else, the anger should be directed against the prison system that allows it.

the phones are supplied by bent prison officers.£300.00 the going rate, HMPs know but turn a blind eye as it looksgood when they spin cells and find them.

they do not get in through visits

What horrible people they must be. But if this is well known, why don't they improve the screening when they hire prison staff? Because something is going badly wrong.
Anyway... What is wrong with prisoners having phones?

the reason no phones is to stop witness intimidation and also running your business from inside.
At least 75% of prison officers are useless bully boys, they are in it for the easy life of 37hrs a week, for every hour overtime you get paid and days off in lou. kitchen screws in wandsworth have sometimes 30 odd days off in a row because of staff shortages, 99% of the kitchen officers are very good.

I can see why phones need to be banned for some, but a lot of the treatment prisoners are given is unnecessarily cruel in my opinion.
I suppose the job attracts bullies as well as the caring type. (like teaching)

Most officers are decent people; the bad apples give them a bad name. The service as a whole is simply 50 years behind our society.

Is it possible that you had better treatment than most, because you were well known for being outspoken and they were unlikely to get away with it?

No Honey; I watched other inmates and officers all the time I was in there and basically ran the three prisons I was in (as staff and prisoners will confirm). If I spotted a hint of bullying or unfairness I took action.
