We can't speak here with authority because the article does not give enough facts.However there must have been enough evidence for the CPS to take over the private prosecution....and how many men commit suicide over a false accusation?
Perhaps this tragic case may get politicians to look at the whole system of prosecutions of sexual cases?

Another contradiction in The Mail.
'The team at Sapphire didn’t seem to him to have any doubts about the truth of what she was alleging, but said it was impossible to proceed because they feared inconsistencies in her version of events would be exposed in court.'
