It's still either Mark or Frankie for me (most natural movers) but Jake and Simon stole the show whilst Pixie, the favourite, does nothing for me at all. Surely the dance off must be Steve and Sunetra?

Pixie is the favourite? I am surprised. I only see it in bits and bobs but I like Jake Wood best.

I do think Craig is far and away the best judge (sorry Bruno, an old friend); not necessarily the most entertaining but the most accurate when it comes to judging dance. And he's clearly starting to rate Mark.

In purely technical ballroom dance terms, Len's vastly better-informed, and sharper-eyed, than Craig or anyone else. It's just unfortunate that the producers want him to do all the cheery uncle routine, which distracts from the fact that he really knows his stuff (there wasn't a professional competition going up until a few years ago when he wasn't one of the key judges and arbiters). I agree that in more general, West End, expressive terms, Craig brings a broader set of expert criteria and, unlike Len, is actively encouraged to speak with authority. Bruno's obviously a lovely man, and it's a delight to see him, but you might as well ask the cat for reliable analysis of the dances these days!

Chief Judge Len - I googled him, and couldn't see a lot.

Except that (over a very long period), he seemed to enter numerous dance competitions and run a small dance school in Dartford - some years ago.

Well have a longer look, if you really care, or stop trying to be facetious, which appears to be your default mode on here these days.

Wiki confirms that Goodman's showbusiness career started at 60 - in 2004, when Strictly Come Dancing began.

Over 40 years ago, he is said to have won the British Championships for some dancing routine - and has been a dance teacher and welder.

Not a lot else. Nothing even in the West End; or abroad - until becoming 60 years old.

A late developer?

Look, as I said, he was a major figure as a judge for most of the UK and some international professional competitions. But you know what? You just keep trolling away. I'm too busy for this nonsense on here.

I see no evidence of any....

Plenty of things happen that are not documented on the internet. Len Goodman was very well known, and very active in ballroom dancing. He is more than qualified to judge.

I used to dance competitively in the 80s and 90s and Len Goodman was one of the main judges in all the competitions we entered, including Blackpool. Of course he knows his stuff. Why do you think he was recruited in the first place?? He was judge when some of the past and current dancers were competing, including the lovely Karen Hardy. I don't know why wikipedia is being consulted - it's hopeless on dancing. Ask a pro.

Bren - Len has airbrushed his history, and/or any achievements. What did he win - why does his life seem to start when Strictly started in 2004, when he was 60?

Being fortunate or clever enough to not be mentioned on the internet is not "airbrushing history" Why would he be mentioned on the (newly popular) internet before he was on tv? what would be the point?
