Panorama - another miscarriage of justice? 10 Years, 7 Months ago
It looks like tonight's show on an innocent serial killer should be worth watching. Could it possibly be yet another example of that dreadful epidemic in our society - police NOT searching for truth but only for evidence to back up a conviction? We are reaching breaking point here. If ever an Inquiry was needed - it's into this kind of investigation.

Most impressive show. One wonders what the (pretty useless) CCRC will make of it. I never really trust trial by media, either way, but this was well put and under stated. One question never answered by West Yorkshire Police… why, if they had much of this evidence, wasn't it put forward? Surely it's the police mission to get to the truth, not JUST to gain convictions? Or should be.

As these mount up (check the daily Court of Appeal decisions - there are dozens of acquittals every day, rarely reported in the media) it really is time for a shakeup in the judicial system and the behaviour of individual police and CPS employees needs examining. Individual accountability. That's why more and more police are getting jailed.
