Just as I spotted (within hours) that there was something very fishy over the missing plane MH370 - when no one else did - you could almost "read" the script as you saw the matter unveil.

When you are up against ONE man the sensible thing to do is to sit it out and wait .... he will tire, whereas the rescuers can work in shifts and always be fresh and alert. Jumping the gun and going-in all guns blazing was guaranteed to kill / injure far more than the attacker could have done himself.
