First of course, yes, such claims should be examined. And very closely, in detail. But police, now told "you will be believed" should be as sensible as they are about other crimes. You should NOT necessarily be believed. Why is it the only area of allegations to be awarded this credit? Do people really not, never make things up? I can tell you, they do, in ALL walks of life and are more likely to do so in this area when told they will be believed and encouraged to invent or exaggerate.

It is extraordinary, isn't it? Both that police say something is true without even investigating it (particularly if dead people are involved) and that people may possibly have witnessed a child murder yet decided to say nothing.

Details on Zoopla property search show Dolphin Square has many flats so the most unlikely place for what is alleged. Too many possible observers and noise.
Second question I have is, that I have not seen the question put by the media re the Elm file that Geoffrey Dickens handed to Leon Brittan is simply - “where is Geoffrey Dicken's copy of the file ?” As if the file was that important he must of had a copy and that most likely would be with a solicitor. Otherwise the lack of a copy is prima facie evidence of a political stunt, full stop.

Please someone find a news media service who can ask questions and have some at least basic and obvious investigations.

As to the police I do not know what to say. I can see JK's experience with them is confirmed on a daily basis from what so called news is reported.

Geoffrey Dickens widow burned his copy as she knew how ridiculous his allegations were. Any politician he suspected of being gay , he labeled as a paedophile. He openly claimed that all homosexuals were perverts and a danger to the nations children. Labour politicians have taken the homophobia rampant in politics in the 70's and 90's, and twisted the evidence of that homophobia into evidence of paedophelia.

I'm reliably informed that, as of late February, the "bail" situation will be resolved with a cut-off point of 28 days. I'm told this is secretly as much due to the police as outraged celebrities and journalists. They are fed up with these long investigations that go nowhere, cost a fortune, eat up hours of man time and occupy decent officers in ridiculous witch hunts. I'm also told that the historical allegations industry is in decline. Officers investigating complaints are finding more and more bad things about accusers. So, whilst publicly and in the media encouraging that "you will be believed", 2015 will in fact see a big increase in prosecutions for wasting police time and perverting the course of justice.

my opinion is that it was so riddled with potential libels that the Home Office sensibly destroyed it as the very notion that a copy could have gotten into third hands & wild allegations leaked about Ministers, MPs, Lords etc etc that the HO could itself have faced devastating defamation cases and a dozen jobs down the tube.

Again the media have jumped in and promoted the Dicken's lunacy even though they knew during the 80s he was Nutter Central.

and why not ? they can never lose- they promote the sensational story and when the whole things falls apart they can milk that as well.
