Johnny Go Home 10 Years, 7 Months ago
Seems to be unavailable for general viewing. Some of the comments in part two of this blog could be quotes from politicians today.

A lot of "We must think of the children"

Norman Fowler started for the Conservative opposition “Public concern has been aroused by the television programme entitled “Johnny Go Home” and by the newspaper reports following that film, and rightly so. What has been revealed is nothing less than a major scandal” …”We should give special priority to policy concerning children, and for very good reasons. The interests of children need our concern and protection. If we fail to give that protection, that omission cannot be easily corrected or repaired. Failure to deal adequately with the interests of children can have serious repercussions on adult lives.”

More ghastly misery lit with endless people profiting off abused children.

When tens of thousands of UK children live in dire poverty what on earth does a "help line" that scoops up millions of pounds in donations do for anyone ?.

Talk and advice is cheap. Books and films no longer cause change, they are viewed read and shortly forgotten. It's also why fantasy blockbusters are the biggest money makers.

Not one politician ( there are only two sides of the 'right' now) will address these issues which means looking at the last 30 years and trying to discover how we got to this point : which of course means accepting the failures of their own parties.

Politics is stuffed because of the entrenched 2 party system that perpetuates the failures : just one example is that each government introduces endless restrictive laws governing every aspect of human behaviour because it is terrified the Opposition will attack them for not doing so.

I think JK is right. Society is so busted, so crazy it may be beyond repair.
