Armistice Day - increasingly irrelevant? 17 Years, 5 Months ago
I was quite alarmed yesterday - watching TV News and reading internet news items - with the increasingly delusional "spin" being put on certain events.

To read the net news / watch the broadcasts you would have thought that the entire country ground to a halt - whereas, in fact, very few people actually took part in any ceremony at all.

The TV cameras carefully edited pictures to make it appear as if these events were well attended - but in the Glasgow scenes they could scaresly disguise the fact that there were only half a dozen there ! In Plymouth there were probably FEWER people on the Hoe than on a normal day ! In Trafalgar Square (which is usually fairly full anyway on ANY given day) the crowds looked pretty sparse.

If people want to celebrate these events - let them. But please, stop trying to "sell" the idea that every single person in the country took part !

(I wonder if B-Liar gave a moments thought this morning to the 655,000 Iraqis who are dead because of his lies?).
