Deal has been done, glad to hear the feminists have lost.
... and the sponsors are quitting in droves already !
A major sponsor has threatened to withdraw its support from Oldham Athletic Football Club if they complete the signing of convicted rapist Ched Evans.
ZenOffice made the threat amid reports the 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms and could be in the squad for Saturdays game against Doncaster.
The company said in a statement it had sponsored League One Oldham for five years and the relationship was based on mutual respect and the fact they shared the same family and community values.
But it warned: ZenOffice do not agree that the current path OAFC are embarking on espouses these values.
Therefore it is with much regret that ZenOffice would like to confirm that we will end our association with Oldham if the move goes ahead to sign Ched Evans.

One sponsor, Verlin Rainwater Solutions, has now ended its association with the club as a result.
Director Craig Verling said the "imminent signing" of Evans, 26, had prompted the decision.
He added: "We would like to take this opportunity to make clear that we feel that Mr Evans should be able to lead a life without further punishment after serving his sentence, although our feelings remain the same that this should not be within the public domain where his previous behaviour may influence the next generation.
"We sincerely wish the club a very successful future and have no regrets about being associated with Oldham Athletic over the past few seasons, but feel our continued support would be sending out the wrong message."

Seems the fans are backing him also, no cared when Marlon King played straight after his release from prison. If I was a Oldham supporter I wouldn't care who they signed along as they scored.
Now Mecca Bingo pull out - twitter.com/MeccaBingo/status/552084329732788224
.... and Vera Baird (who is Northumbria Police Commissioner, and from Oldham) asks Mike Ashley to pull all Sports Direct funding.
Oblivion awaits Oldham Athletic !

If I understand you right ITK, you're not advocating mob rule, just saying you predict it will win in the end? That the green ink brigade, with its new power, can influence virtually everything these days?
Just reporting the facts, JK !
I don't think it is "the green ink brigade" - I think its ordinary people who are allowed an opinion (on where they spend their money) and are not keen on rewarding rapists.
The exact same thing could be said of Gary Glitter et al ... people are not flocking to buy their records anymore, are they?
Am in favour of total support for the French magazine (we should never give in to mob rule !!) - but I agree with the protesters over Evans - he should get on with his life but that doesn't mean rewarding him with a highly paid job where he will be a role model for impressionable young people.
He has shown NO remorse ... and even the Attorney-General is probing his website now !

Oldham must be very very desperate ....
