The green ink brigade ?
.... or decent ordinary people ( ..... the silent majority) ?

Jim McMahon, the leader of Oldham Council, urged "all sides of the debate to show restraint and calm".
" The whole episode has divided the town and public opinion and there are no winners in all this, not least the reputation of our club and town."

We've already seen the PFA distance themselves from this debacle .... but I wonder why the FA has not so far been involved ?
Surely, there should be a charge of bring the game into disrepute against Oldham ? (by trying to sign a rapist?)
Meanwhile, the PFA's Graham Taylor says " there would need to be "quite a difference in the tide of opinion" for Evans to play professional football again. It's not looking good for him at the moment and he will need support."

Maybe should of walked and spoke to Mike Tyson not to box as your rapist.
He is still making money from movies, books and his autobiography is going to be turned in to a biopic.

You assume that Madrid would want him !
Thought this interesting in the Guardian -
So, the official statement is not as strong as the comments by Simon Corney, reported by Sky Sports News, but takes a similar line.
It infers very clearly that Oldham believed signing Evans was justifiable, and that a deal would have gone ahead were it not for threats against the club. It’s worth reiterating that Greater Manchester police say they are not as yet aware of any such threats.
The phrasing of the statement is definitely odd. When it says, “we would like to place on record our gratitude to all who have supported the club during this difficult period”, this almost reads as if the controversy was a situation Oldham were forced into, and which could not have been predicted.

Its also worth stating that Evans has HAD HIS APPEAL (in 2012) and it failed !

The FA have issued a statement -
The FA statement in full said: "Rape and sexual violence are abhorrent and unacceptable. This cannot be overstated.
"We have reviewed the Ched Evans case in some detail and we have examined both the legal requirements and our rules and regulations and there is no basis for us to intervene directly in this particular case.
"That said it is important that we continue to look at the issue of behaviour and attitudes within football and recognise the unique privileges and responsibilities that come with being a participating member of the national game.
"I would encourage the game to consider and discuss this matter and the prospect for future guidelines or codes of conduct.
"The FA will certainly be considering it in line with our own ongoing review of what constitutes public or private communications and behaviour."

Oh, so wrong, hedda (as usual) !
I have been "in tune" with the public mood since this saga began.
The "footie fans" would accept Hitler / Attila the Hun (as long as goals were scored)
- and certainly DON'T GIVE A TOSS about the victim who has had to change her name and move house several times to escape these bullies!
He's toxic - no one will touch him -
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30698618
(if they did, the "money" would disappear from the club - just as it did at Oldham when the sponsors said they were out !)

You now type for the 3.5 billion followers of the game (in every country on earth; all 220) - or just the 25/30 million in the UK?
go away you sad pathetic person -
first you are against Ched Evans when you said this -
" Football fans - in more than one club - have made it known, very clearly, that a convicted rapist is unemployable in the game.
In the world's biggest sport - the 'paid his dues' argument does not stand up. Whether this is right or wrong is irrelevant".
............. in this post - www.kingofhits.co.uk/index.php?option=co...amp;id=125968#125975
then (fearing you are out of step?) you suddenly support him everafter.
GO GET A LIFE !!!!!
