TOPIC: Ched Evans ramifications

Ched Evans ramifications 10 Years, 6 Months ago
Whilst many have noticed the similarities between traditional media censorship of convicted criminals (whether rightly or wrongly convicted) and the green ink brigade's takeover of the Twittersphere, there's another aspect of the Ched Evans affair that worries me.

I suspect the strain on his relationship caused by the incredible decency, kindness and generosity of his girlfriend's father will be even more damaging than the incident which put him in prison. I only hope intelligent advisors (I know some of them) will be counselling them both on this aspect of the sorry saga.

He's going to play for Oldham. Although they said no, he took that as a yes.

Courtesy of Popbitch, I think. Yet again, the Green Ink Brigade win. Perhaps this year we'll see David Icke as Prime Minister.

The green ink brigade ?

.... or decent ordinary people ( ..... the silent majority) ?

===

Jim McMahon, the leader of Oldham Council, urged "all sides of the debate to show restraint and calm".

"The whole episode has divided the town and public opinion and there are no winners in all this, not least the reputation of our club and town."

The entire episode has been more revealing about modern life than it at first appears. Were there any threats made? Well, the concept fits perfectly with the mentality of the Green Ink Brigade, very closely related to Trolls.

We've already seen the PFA distance themselves from this debacle .... but I wonder why the FA has not so far been involved ?

Surely, there should be a charge of bring the game into disrepute against Oldham ? (by trying to sign a rapist?)

Meanwhile, the PFA's Graham Taylor says " there would need to be "quite a difference in the tide of opinion" for Evans to play professional football again. It's not looking good for him at the moment and he will need support."

Maybe should of walked and spoke to Mike Tyson not to box as your rapist.

He is still making money from movies, books and his autobiography is going to be turned in to a biopic.

Sorry Ken! But as we watch traditional media wring every ounce from this "great story", not bothering about the effect on poor Ched Evans, I would suggest that the Ministry of Justice makes an exception and allows Ched to play for a foreign club if one wants to sign him. Let the man go to Madrid, I say. Temper justice with mercy.

You assume that Madrid would want him !

Thought this interesting in the Guardian -

So, the official statement is not as strong as the comments by Simon Corney, reported by Sky Sports News, but takes a similar line.

It infers very clearly that Oldham believed signing Evans was justifiable, and that a deal would have gone ahead were it not for threats against the club. It’s worth reiterating that Greater Manchester police say they are not as yet aware of any such threats.

The phrasing of the statement is definitely odd. When it says, “we would like to place on record our gratitude to all who have supported the club during this difficult period”, this almost reads as if the controversy was a situation Oldham were forced into, and which could not have been predicted.

www.theguardian.com/football/live/2015/j...-balance-latest-news

Its also worth stating that Evans has HAD HIS APPEAL (in 2012) and it failed !

The FA have issued a statement -

The FA statement in full said: "Rape and sexual violence are abhorrent and unacceptable. This cannot be overstated.

"We have reviewed the Ched Evans case in some detail and we have examined both the legal requirements and our rules and regulations and there is no basis for us to intervene directly in this particular case.

"That said it is important that we continue to look at the issue of behaviour and attitudes within football and recognise the unique privileges and responsibilities that come with being a participating member of the national game.

"I would encourage the game to consider and discuss this matter and the prospect for future guidelines or codes of conduct.

"The FA will certainly be considering it in line with our own ongoing review of what constitutes public or private communications and behaviour."

they are completely and utterly intimidated by a tiny vocal minority (no, not ITK waffling on)of a quite vicious and nasty mob of zealots.

I think it's very instructive of not just how Mob Rule has succeeded, but such a miniscule mob when the population is around 66 million.

This is like the Brown Shirts wandering Berlin & Munich in trucks intimidating the citizens and paving the way for a vicious regime to takeover.

It says much about the state of law in the UK. No wonder the rest of Europe thinks the Brits are uptight sexually repressed bigots.

Oh, so wrong, hedda (as usual) !

I have been "in tune" with the public mood since this saga began.

The "footie fans" would accept Hitler / Attila the Hun (as long as goals were scored)
- and certainly DON'T GIVE A TOSS about the victim who has had to change her name and move house several times to escape these bullies!

He's toxic - no one will touch him -
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30698618
(if they did, the "money" would disappear from the club - just as it did at Oldham when the sponsors said they were out !)

So our differences here have changed - you believe the anti-Ched sentiment is that of the majority; we feel it reflects the power of a small clique of bigots and the media and others who bow down to their pressure.

You now type for the 3.5 billion followers of the game (in every country on earth; all 220) - or just the 25/30 million in the UK?

Well, the leader of Oldham Council said it had "split the town" (doesn't sound like a "small clique" does it ?

does this "small clique" include every League One and Two club?

Perhaps most people feel sorry for the real victim - who is still being hounded to this day (and had had to change her name and move house several times)?

Good to see the FA (are they a "small clique"?) are planning to "look at their rules" (obviously to ban anyone from football for such convictions).

(Does the "small clique" include several MPs, several police chiefs, the Prime Minister, Ed Silliband, the Bishop of Manchester and several Police and Crime Commissioners too ?)

I do believe this - this has made more footballers "think" about their actions than any other event past or present !

Yes - the "small clique" is the Green Ink Brigade - the rest are those either frightened of them or keen to seem to be on the side of the loudest shouters. The vast majority make no comment either way and aren't bothered either way; there are far more important things to think or worry about. Like terrorists who kill people in Paris, they may represent a tiny clique of like minded mad people and those borderline loonies who make noise and shout but they are the small minority.

There seems to be quite a "green ink brigade" on this site (who ignore anything that doesn't suit their agenda).... and judging by their vehement posts they DO care (but NOT about the real victim !)

go away you sad pathetic person -

first you are against Ched Evans when you said this -

"Football fans - in more than one club - have made it known, very clearly, that a convicted rapist is unemployable in the game.

In the world's biggest sport - the 'paid his dues' argument does not stand up. Whether this is right or wrong is irrelevant
".

............. in this post - www.kingofhits.co.uk/index.php?option=co...amp;id=125968#125975

then (fearing you are out of step?) you suddenly support him everafter.

GO GET A LIFE !!!!!
