sums up today's Tories 10 Years, 6 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2912508...campaign-launch.html

I ran a gay book shop in Notting Hill for a friend whilst he was in jail(tax avoidance) and had to deal with Gold & Sullivan at times. My friend started the Ann Summer's chain (that was the name of his secretary) and made a fortune. He was upper class and discreet about his porn business.

Gold,Sullivan & Richard Desmond are the epitome of the Nouveau Riche of the UK where how you made your money is inconsequential- but while I have no problem with porn the business around it was murky and there was much grief.

One of them in particular delighted in getting ladies to do photo shoots & then conning them when it came to paying- they would get a fraction of what he said he would pay. it was sport to him.

Ghastly characters, rough & crude, lacking in business ethics & ruthless for no good reason.

As was everyone around them. They made Paul Raymond look thoroughly angelic (he had manners).

Sad there are no old-time Tories left (murdering people in Dolphin Square? ) but New Labour are almost identical.
All eccentricity is being drummed out of British life with a dull sameness. Who to blame? Can't think of anyone now but I'll find the culprits.

what a choice you have to vote for

The late great Mary Millington was one such very BRIGHT Brit gal, DESTROYED by the grubby, predaTORY likes of Gold, Sullivan, and Desmond.

Indeed ... many of today's aristocrats made their fortunes running slave plantations, or buying / selling slaves.

A quick "donation" to the Tory or Whig parties and you were soon the Earl of Sleezeville.

What was the name of that man selling peerages for B-Liar ?
