been caught in 1 NY blizzard trying to fly back to London.

Was both thrilling and frightening as you watch a huge city like NY shut down in stages ...you realise that you are at the mercy of Mother Nature who is all powerful.

Train tracks freezed over and we were bussed to the airport...bus slithered and slid..terrifying , until it finally bogged down and the driver abandoned it and passengers.

I struggled in snow so deep and driving spitting stinging rain for over ONE Hour to get a few 100 yards to terminal.

Airport shut down as I entered terminal but managed to check luggage as flight then cancelled even tho I had handed over boarding pass.

Caught last underground train back to Time Square were it terminated & they announced Underground closed.

Got last room in a hotel.

First time I realised that despite it's amazing wealth & power, the USA is a ramshckle beast blundering along that could stumble and die at any time.

2 days alter turned up for flight with half a boarding pass. Amazingly they just waved me through..can you imagine today ??? arrested and at Gitmo in an instant.
