My Tory canvasser, undeterred by "I shall never vote again; Democracy does not work" delivered the current Tory spin - Red Ed needs keeping out. The kind of negative spin that made me vote Ken for Mayor years ago.

Yes, I do hate negative spin - BUT when you are dealing (generally) with the kind of people like those who voted in Greece last week - promise them anything and they are daft enough to vote for you ! - you sometime have to point out the dangers.

The Labour guy will be round shortly, JK, promising wheelbarrows full of (borrowed) cash !

fortunately I never have to vote in the UK again but 'Red Ed"? Gawd help us.
If he's 'Red" I'm Ethel Merman.

what a choice you have. Even the "right wing" party of Mad Monk Tony Abbott (gone in a week) is to the left of Noo Labour.

I suspect a very large percentage of voters vote negatively. They know what they DON'T want much more clearly than they know what they DO want.

Indeed, Pru

The problem is they want something for nothing ! (and like the Greeks will vote for someone who promises wheelbarrows full of cash, and no payback !)

Why do people think that printing more money will solve everything ?

Because they are very very silly, andrew !

Meanwhile, Lord Mandy says Red Ed is good for business !

Well ... he says that NOW that this has emerged !

"Lord Mandelson dismissed as "complete rubbish" suggestions in a Financial Times article that he was involved in a plot to unseat Mr Miliband.

The paper claimed he contacted Alan Johnson last November "to take soundings" to see if his former cabinet colleague could mount a leadership challenge".

LOL !!!!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-31201889

Who was it who said "with friends like these ..... etc" ????

The problem is they want something for nothing ! Like Google, Apple, Starbucks and that bloke from Boots who lives in Monaco.

## will Ed kept his promise to make the great tax dodgers like Rupert Murdoch who capitalise their profits & socialise their losses pay up?

Going back to the topic of the thread, I'd suggest nobody pays any attention to the Sunday papers. Their agenda is printing good stories. Truth has nothing to do with it.

No !

He needs their cash ! - and needs them to keep employing people.

He is just pandering to the ones who want wheel-barrows full of cash sent round !

I don't understand why anyone buys papers anymore.

Any idea of circulation figures these days ?

Big Business will always be pro-Tory because they will always pay less tax under a Conservative (led ) government. The huge donations made to the Tories will also influence future policy despite what they claim. Big Biz is not in any way interested in a fair(er) society, just in making and keeping as much money as possible. Not that there is anything wrong with the profit motive if it is applied fairly and universally. Tax should be paid in the country profits are earned. Will the EU ever tackle this problem?

The Tories did away with EMA which helped poorer young people whilst slashing the rate of tax to 45% from 50 for top earners. The bedroom tax has disrupted the lives of a lot of genuinely needy people. They now seek to apply totally different democratic standards to strike ballots than general elections. Still the Nasty Party.

circulation worldwide is falling at around 20% per year so their days are numbered.

Who will win the on-line war? Not News Corp i reckon as he was too late getting in to it and Rupert's on-line papers are woeful.

Mail & Guardian are winners ( Guardian cashed up & could go on for 50 years)

Express, Mirror, Star etc and the godawful Sun competing for same market..I reckon they will canibalise each other's audience.

Fortunately for ITK, Mail does superb pictures. With lot's of colour. Newsagent could just wave it at ITK..colour & movement, and curse Ed..ITK go on happy as Larry/
Mrs ITK go on shopping spree.

... and WHO do you think PAYS for the handouts you list ? Certainly not the scroungers !!!!

MORE people in work than ever before (and if they were capable of something better they would get it)

Labour's debt being (too slowly) paid off (if Labour win next time you can forget ALL benefits - as no one would be daft enough to loan Britain any money ! Has Greece (and Portugal, Spain, Ireland) escaped you?

... and as for the bedroom "tax". Five million of social housing waiting lists. SOD THEM ! say the scroungers, I'm alright, Jack !

I can't understand why anyone would PAY for yesterday's news, when online they can get today's news FREE !

Can't be long, surely till the advertisers topple entirely towards online (annoying though they are)
