TOPIC: An Internet Constitution?
#127936
An Internet Constitution? 10 Years, 5 Months ago
I've put up a post on the "terrorist" thread that we need a global Internet Constitution. Covering behaviour such as extremism and religion - how to tolerate different faiths yet stop extremist violence. Sexuality - a serious problem area for humanity; porn, what should and should not be allowed? Age of consent (so different according to different social approaches) - gays and bis - ditto, when some countries still execute people for being gay. How to satisfy all societies? Not easy but essential in this new global world.

you would have to rein in evil "Do No Evil" Google who have made defamation their by-word and claim US status with the phoniest scam ever perpetuated on The World : Free Speech..

...but are based in Ireland, Luxemburg, The Caymans for tax purposes- ie we don't pay any.

the internet is dumbing down the masses...parents reel in shock that their 13 year olds are looking at porn & not studying the Theory Of Relativity (as if they wouldn't have if they had had the chance)and conspiracies abound and are now so sophisticated that they spill over into the tabloids and are eventually picked up by the BBC

we're all going to Hell in a Handbasket (or an aging rusting Jag in my case) and there doesn't seem to be much we can do about !

Great post on the Racist thread also makes a good point about computers cutting back on jobs. One person on a computer can now do the job dozens used to be employed for. So society needs to adapt on ALL levels. An Internet Global Constitution would help the "tax evading" problem, if everyone adhered to the new rules. "Open borders" of course (there are no borders online - or should not be). Suddenly society would have to respect and use various structures. Humanity needs to catch up with Mother Nature - not phased at all by the new technology. Ebola anyone?
